First Check-In: HELL YEAH!

Today is September 2nd, which means it’s time for the first check-in (and OMG where did August go?!)!

Emails have been sent! We're asking that you respond to a couple of questions, and we’ve already heard from several of you! If you haven’t had a chance yet, please let us know how your assignment is going. This check-in is mandatory! If we do not hear from you within a week, then you may be dropped from the fest.

If you did not receive an email, please contact us at [email protected] and we’ll get in touch ASAP!

Remember, assignments for @hd-erised are due November 4th. That’s 8 weeks away! We hope that all is well and you're creating away! But if you are struggling, or consider dropping, please, please, please let us know as soon as possible. We are here to help!

OFBB 2017 First Check-In

Hi guys! Thank you all for checking in over the past few days! Congrats on racking the first hurdle in the OFBB! I just wanted to let everyone know I have received your emails, but unfortunately all of the OFBB info is on Google Drive on my desktop - and I have no internet because of some bad weather. So I'll be getting things in my order over the next few days! I apologize for the delay! Have a nice weekend!

Hey mods! With the first author check-in coming up (eep!) can you give me an idea what you'll be looking for?

For this first check-in, you should have contacted your artist, have a story idea and hopefully have written a couple hundred words. If you're really struggling, the first-check in is also a great time to decide if you want to continue, so we can reach out to pinch hitters.

The first check-in forms have been sent out to your emails so please check them as soon as you can.

We kindly ask you to fill out this form individually, and as many times as collaboration you're participating in. We would like to have your honest opinion about the beginning of your collaboration, and we'll cross-check your answer with your collaboration partner's (or partners') to see if there's need for clarification or mediating between partners.

So if you participate only as an author with one fic, you have to fill out this form only one time. If you participate as an author and an artist with one fic and one artwork, you have to fill this form twice. If you participate as an artist with three claims, you have to fill the form three times. Etc.

We're awaiting your replies latest until 29th of February. If you don't hear back from us until 8th of March, then everything is alright with your check-in.

If you have questions, don't hesitate to contact us the usual ways!

FENCE Secret Santa First Check-in

The link to the form should be in everyone’s inbox by now, but if you haven’t received anything, please let us know at the email address we provided in the FAQ or by using the ask box here!

Please note that the schedule has been changed slightly - we allocated more time to the check-in, just in case someone is travelling or doesn’t have internet access over the weekend.

Last Call for First Check-In

We still have 7 of the 42 authors who signed up for OFBB that have not yet checked in. This is a friendly reminder that if you do not check in, we will assume that you are no longer participating in the Olicity Fic Big Bang. 

Please e-mail us at [email protected] before tomorrow if you missed check in, but intend to continue participating.

First Check-In Reminder

Thank you to the 27 of 41 authors who have checked in for @olicityficbang​ so far. If you have not done so yet, please go ahead and check in now by e-mailing us with a word count and an updated summary if you have one at [email protected].

The average checked in fic has a word count of 7331 which means overall we’re way above goal! A few people are a little behind and there are a few rock stars who have completely blown their word count away (I’m looking at you @entersomethingcleverhere​, @yellowflicker09011996​, @faeriefantasy and @nikkibeckettcsm! All 10k+ word count at first check-in... one of them 40k+ which blows my mind OMG). To those behind goal, don’t worry! This isn’t a competition and it’s not a race. You have plenty of time before posting begins and we’re excited to see what you come up with! 

We’re looking ahead toward assigning cheerleaders over the next week, starting with those people who specifically requested one ASAP. Betas should be paired up by the end of the month for those that asked for one. Thank you all for your patience as we’ve worked the bugs out of all of this and thank you for participating!! 

We wish you productive writing that doesn’t make you want to pull your hair out in frustration! (Hey, we’re optimistic but we’re realists, too!)
