Today's prompt is 'And they were roommates'
Howdy (bang) alright this has been done for like a week and I haven't touched it sense, so if it's bad... I'm sorry. It's pretty fluffy or something ig I dunno... I'm tired.
The day seemed to start as usual, when Nicholas awoke, Seiji was long gone. He had been training and was getting breakfast. Except, it wasn't the usual. Nicholas had gotten used to being alone in the morning, so when he heard a loud snore he jumped instantly, whipping around to see his roommate. Sound asleep.
Nicholas crept slowly to the side of Seiji's bed, he stared at Seiji's face and tried so hard not to laugh. He should wake him up, they had class, plus it'd be rude not too. Right? Well, regardless Nicholas was gonna do it. He drew closer to Seiji's face until they were a mere inches apart then screamed, "Ride and shine SunshINE-!" Nicholas then fell forward on the boy laughing as Seiji very groggily jumped, his eyes falling closed once more. Seiji was too tired to move Nicholas off of him so he let him laugh into him.
"Mm-! Nicholas!" Seiji groaned as he hid his face in his pillow. Why on Earth was this dummy screaming at him? He needed his sleep for their day, " What'd you need? Found a bug you can't kill?" He mumbled sarcastically.
"What? No, it's 6, we gotta get up." Nicholas said, tilting his head up a bit in confusion. "Is your head on?"
"Yes, it is, and no, it is not 6, Nicholas. I'm always up and downstairs at 6 finishing up training" he said as he finally opened his eyes, only to find his phone being handed to him.
"Look, see 6:07." Nicholas smiled as he sat up, resting his arm on Seiji's back. He let the boy study the time then pulled Seiji's arm to sit him up. He let out a small yelp as he sat up, catching Nicholas' arm to keep him from falling.
Seiji thought for a second, also fighting the urge to close his eyes and go back to sleep. "N-no, I don't over sleep, I must've forgotten to set my alarm, but even that's odd" he mumbled as he wiped his eyes. Nicholas smiled as he watched the other boy.
Nicholas got up "Well you did today, how many times am I gonna tell you to get up. You don't want to be late either, do you?" Nicholas asked as he got up, quickly kissing Seiji's cheek to send the boy blushing then headed to his side to get dressed. It did. Seiji's face reddened immediately and he instantly got up, making his bed in a fastened paste. He seemingly aimlessly wandered about their room. He dug through his closet, his mind skipping over everything but the feeling of Nicholas' lips against his cheek. Nicholas watched in awe on how fast the boy was ready.
"You ready? I took my time now we need to go" Seiji said, trying to sound put together as he checked his bag to make sure he had everything. Nicholas grabbed his own bag, then turned and smiled. His roommate had forgotten about his hair and he was gonna leave without fixing it. So Nicholas wasn't gonna say anything.
His smile grew as he grabbed his phone. "Yeah, come on!" The brown haired boy grabbed Seiji's wrist and pulled him out the door, Seiji barely got the door closed before Nicholas made them both take off running. "Hah! You're slow!" Nicholas yelled, causing Seiji to speed up.
"Not true! You got a head start!" He called as they slid down the rails of the stairs.
Aiden had opened his and Harvard's door to a blur running by. "What the hell ran by?" He asked as he saw Bobby running after, who came to a stop.
"Nicholas and Seiji, they both just ran out of their room, holding hands" Bobby stated as he saw Dante coming up behind him. Aiden raised an eyebrow.
"Huh, guess that freshman has a soft spot for Nicholas" Aiden smirked as he saw Harvard grabbing their bags.
"Roommates do tend to grow on you." Harvard added with a smile as he handed Aiden his bag. "And they are roommates, that's the person you usually end up spending most of your time with. Now, come on guys, we gotta get food." Harvard smiled as he closed the door behind himself and Aiden. The four of them then all headed down to the cafeteria.
Seiji and Nicholas both got to the cafeteria at a run, causing every eye to turn to them, but the only reason their gazes lingered was because of who came in running. "I win" Nicholas smiled as he dropped his bag at the fencing table, Seiji did the same.
"That doesn't count, you dragged me, you gave yourself a headstart. If you hadn't, I would have won." Seiji countered as he walked along side his friend.
The two boys couldn't be more different. Seiji walked as if being pulled by a string, his entire self was always perfect. He was neat, quiet, and very serious. Whereas Nicholas' vibrant attitude reflected on every part of him, his happy stride, messy hair, his loud laugh and voice. The boy was terribly messy and always joked. But perhaps that's why the two were attracted to each other, they got a taste of something entirely new. Or maybe it was because they were roommates.
The two got their plates and sat down, neither made on a comment about sitting next to each other, yes, it was odd, but it didn't feel as such. It seemed normal, something they'd done all their lives. "What's with that breakfast, it's sad. You gotta have at least 3 pieces of bacon" Nicholas commented as he took a bite of his food.
"I have a diet I stick to, Nicholas, you should have known that by now." Seiji commented as he took a bite. Nicholas narrowed his eyes and nodded very slowly as he studied Seiji.
"Ya" he mumbled as he chewed his food. "But like, you're fit, you train like crazy, don't you ever get ice cream or something?" He asked, Nicholas looked at Seiji's dark eyes, they glazed over in public, but whenever they were alone, they seemed.. Happier.
"I'm the best, I didn't get there by eating whatever I want" he replied. Nicholas had opened his mouth to reply just as the other boys joined them. Eugene seemed as if he was still asleep, Aiden and Harvard both whispered to each other, mainly about Seiji's hair. "Morning" Nicholas waved as he took a drink. Seiji nodded in greeting. That was another thing, Seiji went quiet, he didn't speak out to the others as much as he did with him.
"Morning ya'll!" Harvard smiled as he studied Seiji and Nicholas, looking for anything out of the ordinary.
"Rough night?" Aiden inturrupted. Harvard stomped on Aiden's foot.
Nicholas and Seiji both raised an eyebrow, glancing at each other. "Eh, pretty good. I mean, grumpy pants over here slept like a baby, I kept waking up cause he snores as loud as a fire alarm" Nicholas teased. Everyone laughed, except Seiji, who was embarrassed but used that to drive as anger or literally anything else. But his cheeks got the slightest shade of red.
"I don't snore, stop telling people that I do" Seiji said in a snappy tune. The others were still laughing, Aiden added a comment to keep the laughter going, Harvard added on too. So Seiji went into his little box, that's was Nick called it. The boy would focus only on what was in front of him, go extra quiet because he didn't want to be seen at that moment, it usually meant he was embarrassed or something of the sort. Not that he'd ever admit to it. But Nicholas could see it in Seiji's eyes.
They were a very loud table. Everyone was always talking, cracking jokes and laughing. Seiji always felt more lonely with them compared to if he was by himself. Nicholas stopped laughing and looked to the boy beside him, his expression softened and he grew slightly closely to Seiji so only he could hear what Nick said next. "Hey, you okay? I could make something up and get you out of here?" He offered before turning to the table to avoid suspicion, however, the boy placed his hand down under the table, if Seiji took it, that was a yes.
Seiji's eyes widened ever so slightly, his fists unclenched in relief. He took a soft breath before grabbing Nicholas' hand, he didn't want to get up, he'd rather let his head fall on Nicholas' shoulder and sleep, but, it was too loud for that. Nicholas smiled as he tightened his grip on Seiji's had before letting go and saying, "Ah, you know, I left something in the room, Seiji, you should come so you can fix your hair" Nicholas smiled as he got up grabbing their trays.
Seiji looked at him. "What's wrong with my hair?" He asked. Nicholas said nothing more, enraging the boy who grabbed their bags and angrily took after him. But once they were out in the quiet, empty hallway, Nicholas took his bag as he looked to Seiji.
Nicholas smirked as he held out his hand for Seiji. "Ready?" He asked. Seiji looked at Nicholas' hand then back to his eyes. Seiji took Nicholas' hand, kissed the boy's cheek then let go, taking off running. "What- no fair!" Nick laughed as he ran after Seiji.
The table watched as the two left. "You guys sensed those vibes right?" Aiden asked, looking to Harvard who nodded, eyes wide as he chewed.
"They definitely have vibes" Harvard said. "And they are roommates."
"And they're roommates" Aiden repeated with a soft, longing smile as he looked to Harvard. 'At least someone here is kissing their roommate'
