So I’ve seen a few things going around of people documenting their experiences with the Covid vaccine in order to reassure or give a heads up to people that haven’t gotten theirs yet.
I got my 1st dose of the Pfizer vaccine at about 4:30pm on Friday, March 5, 2021. It is presently 4:21pm on Sunday, March 7, 2021.
I should state before I start this that I tend not to get side effects or that when I do, they tend to be mild.
I received my dose at a rapid vaccine event in my town. Other than having some heavy dystopian vibes, there was nothing particularly alarming or anything about it. It was like any other shot. It didn’t sting when she was giving it to me. I didn’t even feel the shot itself. After a few seconds the injection site was a little tingly but it went away pretty quickly.
I had to stick around for 15 minutes to make sure I didn’t have a reaction. Then I left.
I had no side effects that day.
Yesterday, (3-6-2021) I woke up with a headache. But, I normally wake up with a headache because I’m in grad school, stressed to the gills, and generally not taking care of myself. I don’t know if the specific cause was the vaccine or just my normal state of being.
I so far seem to have suffered no side effects save one.
I noticed about midafternoon yesterday that my arm was sore. I noticed as I raised it that it ached in the injection site. I checked and it was sore to the touch at the injection site and about 2.5 inches radius from the site as well as a general muscle ache in the arm when I moved it. Nothing all that unusual from other vaccines. It persisted all evening but nothing too painful.
Today, again I woke up with a headache. Again, this is fairly normal so I have no cause to believe it’s from the vaccine. I’ve noticed so far that there is no muscle ache and the injection site is only painful if I press on it.
No other symptoms seem to have presented.
So far, with my first dose, I feel fine. I’ve heard overall that the second is the worst. So we’ll see how that goes. 👍
