First Exams

I am going into grade 9 this year which in Canada means at the end of the year I'll have my first set of exams that will cover everything from September through June. I was wondering if anyone could give me tips on how to prepare for exams. Also is there anyway to retain the information so in June I'm not framing to remember everything for my classes? Any tips for exams in general would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
