Hi there! I'm getting ready to go out on my very first adventure and I couldn't be more excited! I'm an adult and didn't get the chance to travel when I was younger, so I know im not the normal demographic, but I figured a ranger who's been out and around may have some advice?
I'm weird and like to sleep with a fan on, no matter the weather. The sound helps put me to sleep. I know that won't always be an option when I have to sleep outdoors. I didn't know if there would be a Pokemon out there that might mimic the sound or coolness to help me sleep? Contradicting, I get cold easily and would love to make sure I have a Fire Type to help in colder areas. What are the safest Fire Types to snuggle up with?
I have my partner Pikachu, my starter Ivysaur (doesn't want to evolve), and my Gyarados (surf mon). My main goal is just to explore and experience new places, but if I happen across a Pokemon that fits well with the group and wants to accompany me, then that's fine as well.
Good bit of info here, but first, let me say congrats!
Just because you're an adult doesn't mean you can't enjoy a journey, and aside from the gym challenges, there are many things you can go out and do.
Without knowing things like your region or what your goals are, I can't answer everything, but I'll try my best.
Let me cover the obvious one and tell you that you're going to need to learn to be uncomfortable and cope a bit with some things you can't control yet.
If you like the sound of a fan, maybe find some fan noises or get a small portable fan and battery to use at night, but you're going to want to travel light.
As for fire types, without knowing your region, that's a bit trickier but I will say that fire types with fur are incredibly warm and are great for keeping close when it gets cold outside, and even though they are warm, they can still get chilly so make sure you're watching for their needs too.
Maybe a Vulpix, or Houndour.
Other than that, I'd advise being open to trying new experiences and don't focus too hard on one thing. We have so much we can learn out in the world.
