I definitely picked up on the unsubtle hints of tension between Elinor and her parents in the early episodes. It made me worry she might leave her dad to die or even get her mom out of the way to become the Keeper of the Malkia. 

But she subverted my expectations! This confident, blasé girlboss actually cares very deeply for her family. 

She goes out of her way to mentor and assist Juliette, even though Juliette stubbornly refuses to let go of her weakness. 

She convinces her grandmother to draw up a political marriage to save her father’s life.

Have you watched the interviews for First Kill? Because Sarah looks so in love with Imani 😂😂 But seriously though, they both look so genuinely happy promoting the show and their adoration for each other is so pure. Maybe that's why their chemistry is off the charts too 💖 ISTG YALL BETTER SUPPORT THE HELL OUT OF THIS SHOW!!! 

I've never seen a character in something like this be so openly thirsty off the bat. Like, you've wanted to kiss her for a while?? Hasn't Calliope just moved there? And especially considering she's literally written as a reserved, quiet type.

And for sure, I watched the interview, I especially loved Sarah Catherine calling out Juliette non-stop in that BTS breakdown, she's just roasting her own character repeatedly, lol. Like, you have this:

And Imani's trying to set up the story all, well, they're on opposite sides at the start and Sarah Catherine again clears up what Juliette's agenda actually is:

And then even as she describes Juliette's character:

It's only so she can contrast that with where her character’s going now:

And it’s hilarious to see Imani just nod knowingly and a little smugly each time.

But ultimately, it was just really nice to see them being not just supportive, we’ve slowly seen more and more of that in recent years, but really enjoying themselves in such a relaxed casual way while discussing this very lesbian mainstream show. The representation it’s providing is still significant, even more so now, perhaps, than in recent years, but it’s just...fun, fun and silly for its target audience as it should be.
