This show is so chaotic
„We Are high quality vampire hunters! … Oh I stabbed my brother.“
This is a small critique but it really irked me.
I wish Calliope’s explanation of the Cook situation to her parents was better?
You look worried. Are you worried about your family or your vamp girlfriend? Wonder what promotion I'd get if I dragged you out of here because you started acting, I don't know, all twitchy. You were bit by a Legacy, weren't you? Who knows how that would affect you. You might attack me, I'd have to restrain you… drag you in. Look how erratic you're acting.
Cook was legitimately slimy! He didn’t care if Calliope was compromised by the Legacy bite or not, he creeped on her so she would run! So he could capture her and claim the spoils!
Her parents, and especially the Guild, have no reason to trust Calliope over a prominent Guild member! She is absolutely compromised by Juliette! (Though not as much as Cook would claim).
Cook was banking on dragging Calliope back to the Guild and being commended for his actions! Because bringing in a compromised hunter to a safer location makes complete sense! Especially if he claims she has been acting irrationally (which her family would be forced to confirm).
But the way that Calliope explained the situation does NOT convey the creepy vibes enough. All she said is that “he threatened to take me to the Guild, then I ran.” But his actions sound Reasonable, and hers don’t! Because they don’t have any reason not to trust him or the Guild!
Props to her dad for immediately asking if he Bad-Touched her tho
I am really surprised that Calliope’s terrible argument got her parents on board. And honestly, Juliette didn’t even kill Cook to protect Calliope. She did fight him earlier for Calliope. But she killed him for Ben.
No shade, just a misrepresentation of events :(
What is a monster? The man who threatens to kidnap you? Forces you to fight for your life and ends up losing his? The bigoted neighbor who’s so sure she’s on the side of right, she defaces your property to prove your beliefs are wrong?
Or is a monster anyone or anything you fear will harm you … and therefore you must harm it first? Keeping the victory to yourself, of course, so that you can live to fight another day.

One day, you'll let that go, see who I'm trying to be, instead of focusing on the mistake I made.
