it’s not overly surprising considering the way they like to cancel everything with queer female representation but it’s still disappointing

it’s actually exhausting and so fucking annoying to see any glimpse of representation just be quite blatantly disliked and get taken away

but they’re doing a season 2 of heartstopper

not only that but the fans of both of these shows were criticising first kill before it even came out

the response to the announcement of first kill was fans of these shows saying they don’t care and just want heartstopper to be renewed or straight men fetishising it 🧍

they don’t even try to hide it anymore - there is a blatant distaste for queer women, a painful double standard within the queer community where the men are praised but the women are looked at in disgust or under a predatory gaze

They cancelled first kill? Days after the wilds? I’m SO beyond done with sapphic shows being thrown out for no reason. First kill did so much better than heartstopper upon release with a way smaller budget. Think over 2 million views better.

Heartstopper was renewed within days, FK discarded after a short while because they knew they had no intention of renewing.

I’m so done with amazon prime & Netflix right now.

It was purposefully given a small ass budget so that netflix could make a quick buck off of the gays™ and then cancel it without having to worry about making production costs back

They know that less people will be interested in a qpoc romance, but they knew it would give them brownie points with the people who are interested, so making the show on a small budget and never intending to continue past s1 is the best financial decision for netflix
