The recording of The Lone Wild Bird from First Readings Project is finally here!

And the sheet music for The Lone Wild Bird along with three other peices is now available at Swirly Music!

So First Readings Project had an opening in an earlier recording session, which I very happily filled, which means Copypasta will now be recorded in a little over a week!

This is good because my "August batch" of pieces is all pretty much complete and in the final editing stage, so if I'd waited until August to publish them, they would've all been gathering dust for a few months. However, I've got a whole lot of work with my day job right now, and while that gives me plenty of time to look over pdfs of my drafts on my work computer, it does not give me as much time to sit in front of my own computer and edit them in Dorico. I may still be able to get all of it done by the time the recording drops, but we'll just have to see.

All that to say, the August batch is now the June batch! And just as a reminder, this will include:

I've been like six different kinds of tired lately, but I'm getting very close to getting all my scores polished up and the front matter designed and the listings written up so that once the recording of the Lone Wild Bird from First Readings Project drops, I'll be ready to publish.

The recording happened on Monday and I'm told it was a success! It should be posted in about a week or so. This has been a lot of work (in addition to my day job, which is currently in its busy season), and I'm pleased to see the pieces starting to come together!

I'll be getting a recording of The Lone Wild Bird in about a month via the First Readings Project, with help of one of their new opportunity grants for people (like me) who are, uh... poor. I've had a good experience with this so far, and I'm excited to see how it turns out!

And because of this I was thinking it would be cool to be able to release a published score in conjunction with the recording, so I've decided to self-publish. I've been looking into some options, and polishing up my score, and you know, it seems doable.
