I've finally met canon Jaime and boy oh boy, if I wasn't a shipper before I certainly would be now.

Jaime's pure joy of being outside again, the sass with Brienne and Robin, his thoughts of Tyrion...

And most of all, how smitten he is with Brienne! From the very first chapter. My shipper heart fluttered when instead of hitting her with the oar he reached it out to her...THAT'S LOVE!!!

It's the first chapter, but I'm already so happy. Hooray!

...And can we please talk about Bri being a fucking cool superhero with the sailing and the boulder and the diving back into the river?! Wtf?!

Rereading my work

Me months ago, writing the first draft: This sucks. Oh well, I'll fix it up in the next draft.

Me now: Wow. This is really good. I love the character development and the emotion is just perfect.

Me months ago, writing the first draft: Oh, wow. Yep. I'm proud of this. Excelent pacing, good character development. Perfect.

Me now: What. The f*ck. Was I. Thinking.

(seriously though, I'm not sure WHY I thought five pages of logistics would be good buildup to one of my biggest scenes. Turns out it's not)

Oooo, that's harsh, that first bit there. :(  And then Kanaya, who is certainly very sneaky in the way that only troll vampires can be. (?) The mental image of the three of them huddled around whispering at each other is very amusing. Kind of Three Stooges-like, in a way.
