Aging out of writing certain characters?
I have a serious question; is it okay if I, a 20 something adult, writes a fanfic where the characters are 14-17 years old?

WHERE R ALL THE HERMOINE FICS GIMME I NEED #GIRLKISSER
Can you write Hermione x fem reader where they're fake dating when Ron is with Lavender Brown? Hermione wants to make Ron jealous but then realizes she has feelings for reader so they go from fake gfs to real gfs without anyone really knowing 😋
Faking It
a/n: your wish is my command Word: 1.2k
It made Hermione's blood boil every time she saw Ron and Lavender walking hand in hand. She had never been too knowledgeable about romance (or how to stop it), so she did exactly what she does best, research. Literally any romance book she could get her hands on, she read. One thing that she noticed was a shared theme was using fake dating for jealousy. And 9/10 times, it works. Obviously, the falling in love with their fake dating partner would never happen in real life, but the fake dating idea wasn't too bad.
So, she recruited the best person for the job, you. While Ron didn't hate you, the two of you didn't exactly get along. Some sort of sports rivalry, completely ridiculous in her opinion. But, she knew for a fact that it would blow Ron's top off with how mad he would get. What Hermione did not know was that she would be sitting in the library, head in her hands with Harry trying his best to handle the situation. She did not know that she would be exactly like the woman in the books and fall for you.
"Hermione, I'm sure it'll be fine. Ron doesn't even like you like that, so you could even just keep pretending dating and never actually stop!" He tried to reason, which didn't help. "So I failed the plan twice!" Hermione groaned, Harry cringed at his mistake. When she had dragged him to the back of the library, he thought he was about to get lectured about his third failed potions assignment, not a confession about his friend fake dating a girl to make his other friend jealous.
"Well, why don't you just... ask her out? If she'll fake date you, surely she'll real date you." He suggested, gesturing around. Hermione slowly lifted her head, turning an intimidating stare to him. "I can't do that, do you even know how many times I reiterated that I didn't like her in that way. She would flip out if I told her, what if she stops talking to me?" She worried, getting progressively louder. One of the librarians shot her a look, pressing a wrinkly finger to her lips. Hermione sighs, this is hopeless. "Look, the worst that'll happen is it's a bit awkward, so what. Wouldn't it be worth the risk?" He asked, to be fair, he had a pretty good point. Hermione sighs, turning back to her friend. "When did you get so wise?" Harry smiled a bit, "I guess you're rubbing off on me."
You weren't entirely sure why Hermione had sent you a note to meet her in the DADA room, but you weren't going to complain about being in the same room as the girl you had a crush on. You don't exactly remember when your feelings for Hermione had started, but somewhere between cuddling up on a couch during Gryffindor dorm parties and study 'dates' in the library, all the wanting to hold her hand became real instead of for show. Sure, it was nice to have everyone thinking you were dating the girl of your dreams, but in reality, it was a sham. She wanted Ron back, and you had to respect that.
The creek of the wooden classroom door caught your attention, looking up just in time to see Hermione shut the door with a click. She looked nervous, which made you feel nervous. Had she found out you liked her? No, that's impossible, you hadn't even told your cat, yet alone a talking being who could have told her. "You good? It looks like you're about to throw up." You say pushing off the bench you were leaning on. She looked at you, brown yours wide. "Uh, yes, I'm fine. There's just something I have to tell you."
She took a deep breath, clenching her hands so hard her fingernails dug into her palms. You practiced this all day, you've got this under control. "I like you, as in I have a crush on you. And I know that there is a rather large chance that you don't like me back but I need to tell you this because you deserve to know. If you don't like me that's fine and we can end the fake relationship right now, but if you do... it would be a bit helpful to know before you go to your Quidditch game."
You stood there, slightly in shock. Hermione freaking Granger liked you back, it was a miracle. But the words 'I like you too' felt stuck in your throat, so instead all that came out was "I-uh, I-"
After a few awkward and completely silent seconds later, the same oak door she'd just came though was kicked open and the entirety of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, including Ron And Oliver, poked their heads in. "There you are, come one! I already let you skip warm-up, the game's about to start and you need to get into gear." Oliver said, rushing to grab your arm, not even stopping to acknowledge Hermione before dragging you out. "Hey! Wait- hold on-" You protested, getting only a glimpse of Hermione's startled look before the door shut and you were pulled away.
Once you had finally gotten into gear, the team had gotten off your back about being late. Unfortunately, they had gotten right back on when you started playing shittier than normal. During the interval break, Oliver came up to you. "What's going on with you? You're missing all your passes, that almost never happens." You were leaning against the wall, staring off into the distance with a glazed over look in your eyes. "Hermione Ganger likes me." You loudly whisper, making Oliver roll his eyes. "Are you serious? You worried about impressing your girlfriend or something?"
He put a hand on your shoulder, forcing you to look at him and listen properly. "If you want to do something to keep Granger liking you, then win her a match." Oliver's ideas rarely had something to do with anything other than winning Quidditch games, and this one was no different. But something about what he said got you out of the fog pretty quick. Before you knew it, you were scoring goals and catching passes like a pro. All the while, you were picturing Hermione, standing in the crowd of red and gold, watching you win.
Your team had won, obviously, and now all the crowds had been released. Which is why it wasn't surprising to see Hermione walking back over to you, only terrifying. She started talking quicker than you could process, not that it mattered. "Look, I'm really sorry if I made things weir-" But you cut her off, pulling her in by her waist and pressing your lips to hers. She felt taken aback, but kissed back sooner than later, resting her hands on your shoulder and cheek. "I like you too." You mumbled against her with a smile.
"Get a room!" One of your teammates yells at you, cupping his hands around his mouth like a megaphone. You break the kiss, but still keep Hermione close, turning to him. "Just cause your girlfriend won't kiss you doesn't mean you get to be an asshole Andrew!" Hermione giggled a little as you turned back. "You know, I originally thought that doing all of this was kinda stupid." You admit. "It's a good thing I make a lot of stupid decisions." Hermione raised an eyebrow. "Am I one of those stupid decisions?" You smiled wide, rubbing a gloved thumb over her cheek, "not a chance."
