My ratings from the 1st semi final
Disclaimer: these are MY opinions according to MY preferences. You're free to disagree, I promise it's ok if I didn't like the song you liked
1. Iceland 5/10. It was ok. Fun enough that it wasn't bad, but not very memorable except for the Minecraft
2. Poland 7.5/10. It was reeeeaaaally good. The song, the visuals, just everything. Maybe slightly too busy, and it wasn't one that I'll be obsessed with forever, but it was great.
3. Slovenia 5.5/10. Listen, it was quite emotional. But it was also too simple. It was lacking in general.
4. Estonia 8.5/10. Have been listening to it on repeat. Everything was amazing
5. Spain 6.5/10. It was good, it was fun. But that's all it was
6. Ukraine 8/10. I loved it, it was absolutely amazing. I don't understand all the hate Ukraine is getting. Also been listening on repeat.
7. Sweden 8/10. I was unsure about it at first, bit it grew on me very quickly. Also listening on repeat
8. Portugal 7.5/10. For once my country sends an amazing song. I love it, but did notice some parts where it was lacking in the performance
9. Norway 7/10. Was good, better than good. Not mind-blowing but I'll still be listening to it often
10. Belgium 4/10. Sorry, it was too much and too little at the same time.
11. Italy 7/10. I liked it, genuinely. I get that the style isn't everyone's cup of tea, it's not mine exactly either, but I still liked it.
12. Azerbaijan 5/10. It had potential I think. I even kinda liked some parts of it. But it wasn't very good
13. San Marino 5.5/10. It was kinda fun in the moment. But, idk. Just no.
14. Albania 6.5/10. It was pretty good. I feel like it lacked somewhat, but it wasn't bad. Could have been better
15. Netherlands 6/10. Look the song was good, but it's so noty style. So not memorable, idk
16. Croatia 6.5/10. I kinda liked it. Wasn't my favourite, but it was good
17. Switzerland 6,5/10. It was good, but idk if it was all the camera weirdness it didn't feel good. Which I know isn't fair for the contestant because it was literally not her fault. I might change my mind in the final
18. Cyprus 3/10. Yawn, boring, being a fit gym bro isn't enough to get my attention, and the song didn't have much going for it. If you spend most of the song hoping it will end asap, it's not good, I'm sorry.
Again these are MY opinions. I know many people disagree, and that's ok, we all have different tastes
What-a-semifinal!🤩 This time live from Malmö! I am happy with the results but also a bit surprised when they started announcing Serbia, Portugal, Slovenia and (lol) Finland. And heck, welcome back Luxembourg! :D I'm beyond happy that Croatia made it, what an absolute audience bop!! The overall quality of the songs was high (and surprisingly VERY weird lol) and speaking of quality - the stage, the lights, the effects and Pyro was among the best I have EVER seen in a live show. Not to mention the lovely lady hosts who did an amazing job!💖
And if you've read this far, let me give you some closing words. No, I'm not boycotting Eurovision Song Contest, I would never. If you haven't seen the show live, if you haven't seen all the hard work and above all the LOVE that goes into this show and its performers, you should go and see it for yourself. This is the ONE time every year when people from all of Europe and the EBU countries come together and just have a really good time, with its own politics, its own rules, love for everyone, no matter your background, sexuality, politics or religious beliefs. I've been to tons of concerts and shows, but I have never met people nicer than the ESC-fans. Why people suddenly put all their focus on a conflict that has been going on for longer than anyone can remember, is beyond me. I've read so many blatant lies and fabrications about Eurovision, how they are discriminating certain people in a certain way, which is quite honestly scaring me, because people do believe it. Get your facts right, stand with Eurovision, stand with love and acceptance, not against it. Let us be united by music, not war.
And with that, goodnight & I'll see you in semi 2 on Thursday!🎶
nudity™ apparently isn't a problem anymore in Eurovision.
It's that time of the year again, and I'm sorry mutuals...BUT WE ARE ALLOWED TO VOTE IN THE FIRST SEMI TONIGHT and it has my favourite act.
The idea of semi-finals is to filter out the shitty songs and be left with the good stuff. Not the other way around...
I want Mahmood&Blanco to win just so Italy can have a second chance at hosting and redeem themselves bc last night was...
