Sorry that got really grim really fast. Bottom line = the thesis is very critical to the success of your paper." ~Pretty much word for word one of my class time rambles.

So much to do with continuing to set up stuff for the semester, grading assignments, and doing research for classes.

Hello my lovelies,

I have been so busy the last week and a half setting up the classes I will be teaching at a community college in NJ!  I am teaching 3 English writing classes and there is a ridiculous amount of paperwork and planning I have been doing to get the whole semester set up.  Because of this I have been mostly MIA from tumblr and my blog has been running on a blog.  I am going to go through my messages today and catch up on my correspondence on here.  So if you messaged me and I was tardy in responding I apologize and send you all my love!  

For my freshman followers, it’s surreal I am now teaching your peer group!  If you want any advice from a mid-twenties person who has been there done that you can always send in for college advice!  I hope you are all having a fantastic first semester!  This is my first semester (again) but this time I am sitting on the other side of the classroom as the instructor.

Calm Before the Classes

As this is my first year teaching as an adjunct, there were a lot of moments where I have had nothing to do but pick apart my current lesson plan and come up with ideas for different exercises. By being busy enough to force myself to take my time with my re-read of Harry Potter I got myself into a bit of a reading slump.  All the readings of the series I have done before involve a book a day and total immersion into Hogwarts.  Instead of a week of Harry Potter this has been weeks of Harry Potter and I am just getting into the 6th one today.  I am feeling frustrated from being interrupted from my 2015 re-read as reading these books is one of my favorite things to do.  So I decided that I am going to buckle down and knock out (in a fun way) the last two books in the next few days.  

I heard back from the college I will be teaching at this fall and I will have 3 classes that start in the next 1-2 weeks, so I want to get finished with my re-read so that I can devote the time I need to writing syllabi and making handouts, etc.  

I am so excited for a few more days of Harry Potter and starting out with my teaching plans!!  :]
