I remember that in first grade we used to have those pencil machines, where you'd insert 25 cents to get a cool pencil.

This was the cool thing at the time and of course I wanted a cool pencil.

So I made paper bracelets with little designs on them (like flowers, tree, sun) and I sold them for 25 cents.

Eventually everyone got wind of my bracelet business. And soon I had like 20 dollars worth of quarters.

I also remember that every first grader had one of my paper bracelets. And I had tons of fabulous pencils, that I lost later in the year.

Ransom and I worked on his special homework project this weekend- a cereal box book report! Can I just take a moment to say 😳😳😳 on how in-depth first grade homework is these days?? We not only needed to design the boxes, but also ingredients, synopsis, a game for the back and a prize inside!! I remember one time in like first grade I started crying because the teacher asked us what we would like to know and me, being a huge dinosaur fan, raised my hand and asked “How do baby carnivore dinosaurs know they’re carnivores? Do their parents bring them meat or is it something they know?” And all the other kids started laughing. Looking back I’m pretty sure none of them even knew what carnivore meant. Bitch ass kids.

The only answer I got was the realization that other kids obviously don’t care about dinosaurs as much as I do
