I'm wondering what your Father!First Ninja AU's background story is, since it's the least described one in the character ask range you mentioned. I don't know what to ask about characters since I know little about the AU.

So here's the question, is the AU like, typical superhero teen and their policeman father scenario? Were Randy and Finja blood-related or not? Are Danny and Jake in this AU simply Randy's friends or there's more between them?

Oh yes, I’ve also been thinking about developing this AU in more detail. In fact, I already have a few drafts that could probably answer many of the questions. :)

For now, I imagine this AU as a modern world—without magic or ninjas. Still, I like the idea that Randy has been fascinated with ninja stories since childhood: watching cartoons, movies, and things like that. But the thought that he could actually be a ninja even in this version also seems interesting, so I haven’t made a final decision yet.

In this AU, Randy and the First Ninja are indeed blood relatives. In fact, the First Ninja is his uncle, who in many ways took on a fatherly role after Randy’s own father—who was the First Ninja’s brother—tragically died in an accident. His father also worked in the police force. Overall, most of the First Ninja’s relatives chose careers devoted to helping people: among them are doctors, police officers, firefighters, and others who serve the community.

The relationship between Randy’s mother and the First Ninja remains purely family-friendly, with no hint of romance.

As for Danny and Jake, in this AU they’re mostly just friends who always manage to get themselves into trouble.

These are still just rough ideas, but I’m gradually working everything out. :)

Wait, so in the Father!First Ninja AU, is Finja Randy's maternal or paternal uncle?

(Also if Randy DOES somehow end up becoming the Ninja/vigilante of sorts, I can 100% see them having a similar relationship to Miles & Jefferson or Gwen and her dad which totally isn't angsty at all aha who said that-)

Finja in the “Father! First Ninja” AU is Randy’s uncle on his father’s side.

(To be honest, I hadn’t really thought about that before :_))

I was thinking that Randy, since childhood, was inspired not only by ninjas, but also by officers, agents, and detectives. Kind of like Anya from the anime Spy x Family, who’s also fascinated by those kinds of things.

I really like the idea that Randy could become a young officer.

(I don’t know why, but it reminds me of another AU I made connected to Detroit: Become Human, where Randy is an android and a partner to Lieutenant Norris — our First Ninja.)
