so my ficlet request this time is: 🍰 a familiar taste for firstprince plz
I'm insanely late for this and I'm not all too sure that I stuck the landing but thank you for prompt nonetheless dear!
Henry’s been attempting to bake lately, with varying degrees of success.
But success or failure, Alex is always more than happy to be his boyfriend’s taster. Whether it be a sacrifice or a gift, anything to get Henry to light up the room with a triumphant smile.
It’s this one particular day, though, that Alex marked down on his list of Henry’s desserts with a giant golden star.
Henry doesn’t explain anything when he hands the plate of unassuming cake to him after a dreadfully long day dealing with endless lectures, just a smile with a mischievous curve at the corner of his lips and a twinkle in his eyes.
Alex digs in, and the soft, light, sweet taste spreads in his mouth.
He recognises this taste.
He knows it, with the sound of boleros playing on an old radio, with his Abuela’s light-hearted scolds and his dad’s loud laughter, his Tia’s hands ruffling his curls and his mom placing candles on top of Abuela’s tres leche cake.
“How did you-”
“I asked Oscar for a recipe of your comfort food. You’ve been working too hard lately love, you need something to cheer you up. There’s a couple of failed batches that David and I had to sacrifice, but I got there in the end.”
And what a sign of love is it, something both so small yet so big, to have Henry spend the weekend while he was out trying, experimenting and perfecting something from Alex’s childhood just to make Alex’s day a little bit brighter.
Thanks for the ask, Morgan!! I'm sorry it took like... a month.
I struggled a bit with this prompt, which is why it's on the shorter side. But it's pure, silly, post-canon fluff and I hope you enjoy! 💕
🎞️ outdoor movie theater 📽️
“Seeing Twister at the drive-in seems a bit like tempting fate,” Henry frowns.
“Yeah, that’s the fun of it. We can be all dramatic and pretend like it’s our last night and make out like teenagers.”
“Isn’t that what a drive-in is for anyways?”
“Exactly!” Alex grins. “It’s an honored American tradition. Texas had the first drive-in theater in the entire country,” he says proudly.
“Actually, even before that, there was a partial drive-in theater in New Mexico, but it didn’t last for very long.”
“Why are you trying to turn me on right now? The movie’s not for another four hours.”
“I’m not, love, although that is a fun side-effect of the insomnia-fueled research session I conducted last night while you were asleep.”
“Baby,” Alex pouts. “I’m sorry you’re not sleeping well.”
“It’s just the time change, I’ll adjust.”
Alex and Henry had just barely moved to Texas when Queen Mary died, forcing Henry to go to London for nearly two weeks and throwing his sleep schedule completely out of whack. It’s like she just needed one last thing to throw at Henry before he could fully disengage from his royal duties and live the quiet, peaceful life that he and Alex have been cultivating in their new home just outside of Austin.
One of the ways Alex hopes to initiate Henry into Texas living is at the drive-in movie theater. Henry’s never been to one before, least of all in the bed of the pickup truck that Alex is borrowing from Liam.
When Alex shows Henry the way he’s decked out the bed of the truck in blankets and pillows, Henry visibly melts.
“You did all this for me?”
“Of course, baby. Only the best for my prince,” Alex grins as he leans in for a kiss.
They arrive at the drive-in, which is filled largely with pickup trucks decked out the same way. Henry momentarily marvels at the sight before they settle into the bed of the truck. Alex pulls out a hidden cooler bag filled with fruits, cheeses, and Mexican Cokes.
“Are you allowed to bring all this in?”
“Nah,” Alex shrugs. “But they don’t really care.”
They settle in to watch the film and when they finish eating, Alex tucks everything away and Henry leans into his side. When it gets to the part where the twister is ripping through the drive-in, Henry tucks his face into Alex’s shoulder.
“Hold me, I’m scared,” he says in a too-quivery voice, like a girl in a horror film. Alex chuckles and pulls him close.
“I’ll protect you, baby.”
“How could you possibly protect me from a twister?” Henry whispers back.
“I’d throw my body on top of yours.”
“Well that sounds promising,” Henry grins, leaning up to capture Alex’s lips. By the time the characters are pulling Aunt Meg from the rubble, Alex is pressing Henry into the blankets and kissing him like it’s their last night.
All in all, a fucking perfect night at the drive-in.
Firstprince and 🍦kids party please (cause I’m still obsessing over the two of them as dads)

“Alex… you didn’t.”
“Hen, I most certainly did,” Alex smiled coyly as they led Ellie and her gaggle of 5 year old friends out into the front yard.
“An entire ice cream truck? For a bunch of 5 year olds? The last thing they need is that much sugar!” Henry tried to protest, but the girls were already sprinting toward the vehicle parked at their curb.
“Daddy daddy, look what papi did!” Ellie yelled excitedly from the side of the truck.
“I see that love, that is so generous of your papi! What do you say?” Henry ushered their little one toward Alex.
Ellie looked up at Alex sweetly, her twinkling brown eyes a mirror image of his own. “Thank you papi, this is the best birthday ever!”
Alex scooped up their daughter and peppered her face with quick kisses. “Of course baby girl, anything for my favorite princess,” he winked at her as he gently flicked the plastic tiara that sat over her curls.
“Now girls,” Alex continued, addressing the entire party that only reached about knee-height. “One ice cream each, okay?” He glanced sideways at Henry, then back at the girls conspiratorially. Cupping one hand on the side of his mouth that faced Henry, he loudly whispered, “and you can each get one more to take home but shhh, don’t tell Mr. Henry.”
Henry rolled his eyes fondly at his husband. Alex whispered something in Ellie’s ear only for her to hear, before he put her down. Soon, Henry found a flurry of pink and ruffles and glitter bounding toward him. Without a second thought, he reached down and collected Ellie in his arms.
“What is it, little love?” Henry asked.
Ellie cupped her palm next to her mouth, imitating Alex’s previous move. “Thank you for my ice cream party, daddy. I love you,” she kissed his cheek.
“Oh you are most welcome my princess. Your daddy and I love you so much,” Henry placed her back on the grass to join her friends at the ice cream truck.
Alex rejoined Henry’s side.
“I call foul play, pitting our child’s cuteness against me,” Henry huffed.
“Works every time,” Alex smiled.

The soft click of the door shutting behind him echoes through the vast quiet of Kensington Palace. Henry lets his head rest for a moment against the carved oak, his eyes fluttering closed as he breathes in the familiar scent of ancient wood and polished floors. The silence feels heavier here—thick and ancient, a far cry from the lively disarray of home, the heartbeat he’s come to rely on.
But there is no heartbeat here—just the polite indifference of the palace, cold and too grand for comfort.
The day has been long, stretched thin by endless meetings, a forced smile fixed to his face until it ached. And now, alone in his room, the weariness settles into his bones, an old companion he knows too well when he’s in England, when the distance between him and Alex is measured in entire oceans rather than hours.
He begins the mindless routine of unpacking his personal carry on, his fingers moving with the practiced precision of someone used to this lonely ritual. Clothes folded, toiletries stowed. But as he reaches for the jumper Henry had stolen outright before leaving, his hand brushes something unexpected.
It’s soft—a plush body that hadn’t been there before. Frowning, Henry pulls it free from his carry-on, his heart giving a peculiar lurch as he recognizes it. A stuffed Longhorn. Ridiculous, of course. Absolutely ridiculous.
And so completely, wonderfully Alex.
A small smile tugs at Henry’s lips as he holds the toy between his hands, fingers tracing the horns and the comically wide eyes. He can picture Alex picking it out with a mischievous grin, some cheeky comment about Henry needing a piece of Texas wherever he goes. It smells faintly of Alex’s cologne, too—just enough to make Henry’s chest ache with the familiar longing that’s never too far away when they’re apart.
He sinks onto the edge of his bed, cradling the Longhorn in his lap as if it were something infinitely precious. It’s silly, childish even, but there’s comfort in it—an absurd sort of joy that cuts through the dull, persistent ache of missing Alex.
Without thinking, he squeezes it—perhaps a touch too hard, because suddenly Alex’s voice breaks the silence, soft and warm, like he’s right there in the room.
“Hi, baby. I love you, and I miss you. I can’t wait for you to come home.”
Henry freezes, his heart stumbling in his chest. For a moment, it feels like he’s stepped outside of time, suspended in the tender echo of Alex’s voice. It’s so achingly familiar, that honey-smooth drawl, the way it curls at the edges of the words as though Alex is smiling when he says it.
"Hi, baby."
God, how those words settle like sunlight against his skin.
"I love you, and I miss you."
His throat tightens, an uninvited lump of emotion building behind his ribs. How could something so simple—something so utterly Alex—leave him feeling both weightless and tethered at once? A single breath of home in this cavernous, cold palace.
He presses the Longhorn to his chest, his fingers curling into the soft fabric as he listens to the message again, savoring the warmth in Alex’s tone, the certainty threaded through every word.
“I can’t wait for you to come home.”
Henry exhales slowly, eyes fluttering shut as he allows himself to sink into the moment.
This, Henry thinks, is love. It’s a stuffed Longhorn nestled in his lap, whispering promises across the miles. It’s the quiet comfort of knowing that no matter how far he goes, no matter how alone the world might make him feel, Alex will always find a way to reach him.
Even here. Even now.
A smile pulls at his lips, slow and tender, as Henry presses the toy closer. He lies back against the pillows, exhaustion melting away in the warmth of Alex’s words, still echoing in his mind.
"Hi, baby. I love you, and I miss you."
He reaches for his phone between blinks, his fingers moving with a practiced familiarity, navigating to Alex’s contact with the speed of muscle memory. The small FaceTime icon glows blue under his thumb, and he presses it without hesitation.
The phone rings once. Twice. And then—there he is.
Alex’s face fills the screen, slightly grainy from the signal but no less perfect to Henry’s eyes. His hair is messier than usual, glasses on his face and a small ink blot on the corner of his mouth, but Alex’s grin is unmistakable, all teeth and warmth, and Henry’s heart stumbles at the sight of him.
“Hey,” Alex says, his voice cutting through the remaining distance like a balm, like coming up for air. “Miss me already?”
Henry’s chest tightens, his heart swelling with a rush of affection so potent it leaves him breathless for a moment. He smiles, soft and slow, eyes tracing the lines of Alex’s face as though he could memorize them all over again.
“Hi, my love,” he murmurs.
And in that moment, with Alex’s face glowing softly on the screen and the stuffed Longhorn tucked securely in his arms, Henry feels something inside him settle. He is home, in the only way that matters.
Hey love, for ficlet Friday, firstprince and 💜 please !!
@luainthewild @o0anapher0o thank you for the prompts my lovelies!!! Wrote this on the subway on my phone lol, so sorry this took so long!
Movie verse, V&A scene!
He doesn't know what he's trying to achieve when he brings Alex to the V&A.
Maybe it's some sort of end, a final confession to mark an end to whatever this wonderful, torturous relationship. Maybe it's a reciprocation, laying himself bare after Alex did the same to him.
Or maybe, the stupid romantic in him wanted to let young Henry's dream of dancing here with his one true love come true.
So when he heard the first sync notes of a song he remembers Dad singing to Mum on weekends in the music room, he can't do anything but turn around and walk towards Alex, whose arms are open and whose smile is endlessly charming, despite the rain and storm. He can't do anything but let Alex loop his arms around his shoulders, Alex's big hands warm on his waist.
He can't do anything but sway to the song, throat tightening, nearly suffocating from the wild mix of relief, joy and love he feels.
And as Alex whispers "I am never letting you forget this moment,"
Well.
Henry knows this dance with be imprinted in his mind, Perfume Genius's voice on repeated for as long as he lives.

New Orchid Variant Can Identify Soulmates, Botanists Say
Orchid of Fate: Meet the Soulmate Flower
Alex scoffs at the headlines currently making the rounds. He’s been in the flower business for eight years now and the “soulmate flower” is the most far-fetched one he’s heard of yet.
Alex drops his phone and turns back to the arrangement he’s working on. What started as a part-time job to help him pay for his caffeine habit during college turned into a passion that led to him moving back to Austin and opening a flower shop of his very own. He’s five years in now and has never been happier.
He certainly doesn’t need a fucking soulmate.
When a shipment of orchids arrive from Alex’s supplier, there’s a note attached to the invoice.
Alex,
Included some Orchids of Fate free of charge. Please use at your discretion.
He shakes his head and begins unpacking the order. Supposedly, if you smell these flowers in the presence of your soulmate, you’ll be drawn together. Skeptics just say they’re just an effective aphrodisiac. Alex doesn’t believe a single claim.
When he opens the package with the Orchids of Fate, he has to admit that they’re incredibly beautiful. Alex has always had a soft spot for orchids, but these are certainly unique looking – and unique smelling; they carry a distinctly tropical scent, but there is something underneath it, an almost earthy note. It’s like honey, but also mushrooms. Alex can’t quite place it. He’s still breathing it in when he hears the bell over his front door chime.
He grabs the whole box and carries it out to the front counter.
Fuck. It’s Henry.
Henry Fox is Alex’s best customer. Mr. Legs for Days.
He comes in and buys several expensive arrangements at a time, but never wants to talk about who or what they’re for. For six months, Alex has been trying to wrangle up the nerve to ask Henry out, but he’s not even sure if the man is single. Who are all those flowers for? Plus, if Henry says no and it gets awkward, he could stop coming in and Alex doesn’t want to lose those sales. Nora keeps telling him to get over himself and just do it but it’s complicated, okay?
“Henry,” Alex greets as he places the box on the counter. “Nice to see you again.”
“Likewise,” Henry nods.
“What brings you in today?”
“I need some arrangements for work.”
Work. That’s new. Alex smiles at him.
“Of course. Anything in particular?”
“Whatever is in season. Unless you have something new?”
“Well, I just got a shipment of the soulmate flower,” Alex laughs, rolling his eyes and taking one out of the box. “They’re beautiful but I don’t know how I’m going to sell them.”
Henry walks over to the counter, all blue eyes and pink lips, and– oh. Oh. Shit, Alex is hard. He stares as the beautiful man leans in to take a closer look and a sniff, watching in what feels like slow motion as the man’s brow furrows, then his eyes lift, then his pupils dilate and his cheeks flush.
Holy fuck, that’s pretty.
“Oh,” Henry breathes.
And Alex isn’t sure who moves first, but as he’s dropping the flower, Henry is rounding the counter, and in an instant, they’re kissing. Henry’s lips are even softer than Alex always imagined and he can almost taste the pollen of the orchid on Henry’s tongue. He chases it, eager for more.
“We can’t do this here,” Alex says when he breaks off to breathe.
“Shall I lock the door?”
It feels like it would take the jaws of life to pull Henry from his arms, but Alex nods anyway. Henry runs to the front door, locks it, and flips the OPEN sign to CLOSED.
“I have a ‘Back in 15’ sign.”
“I don’t care.”
Yeah, neither does Alex. Henry kisses him again and Alex steers them into the back room. He presses Henry against the wall as they rut together, hard and aching for it.
“Ah– Alex. I don’t want to come in my trousers.”
Alex drops to his knees and starts opening Henry’s fly before he thinks to glance up. Henry nods and helps push his pants and underwear out of the way. Alex takes exactly three seconds to appreciate the most perfect cock he’s ever seen – hoping desperately that it’s not the last time – before swallowing it down to the hilt.
He works Henry over as efficiently as he can, flushing with pride when Henry gasps out praise and spills down Alex’s throat. He barely manages to tuck Henry’s dick away before he’s being hauled up for another searing kiss and then pushed against the wall as Henry reverses their positions.
Henry’s tongue is fucking talented and Alex would be embarrassed about how fast he comes except that he’s been fantasizing about this exact scenario since the first time they met. Those blue eyes blink up at him and Henry moans and Alex is fucking done for.
He slumps against the wall as Henry stands and finds his lips again. Alex finds that although the immediate need has faded, the desire for Henry has not.
“So. I guess those orchids really work,” Alex laughs.
“I’ve wanted to do that for months, if I’m being honest.”
“Really? Who do you buy all those flowers for?”
“Well,” Henry says, reaching up to brush back a curl from Alex’s face. “Some of them I bring home. When I first moved here, I didn’t have much furniture or decor yet and the flowers made it feel more like home.”
“And the rest?”
“I bring them to the shelter where I work with LGBTQ youth.”
Alex positively melts.
“Will you go out with me?”
“Yes,” Henry answers immediately.
Alex shows up at Henry’s door with a bouquet that includes the Orchid of Fate. They don’t make it to dinner. And Alex never charges Henry for flowers again.
I wish you would write a fic where Alex fists Henry for the first time
AKNDHFAIKALPFWOJF this is wild thank you for taking “nothing off limits” and fucking sprinting with it!!!
Below the cut because PORN and also this is gonna be long oops

Henry had been prepping himself all day.
And not the usual “all day” when he really just meant in the shower before Alex got to his place and he told him he’d been prepping “all day.”
Truly. All day. From the moment his eyes opened, he was opening himself up.
It was something Henry had always wanted but been too afraid to ask for. Anytime he even got close with past partners, they freaked out in fear of hurting him or thinking he was gross for wanting it.
Alex didn’t find it gross for one second. In fact, when Henry found the perfect vulnerable moment to share this deep fantasy with his boyfriend, he’d barely gotten the sentence out before Alex had him bent over the kitchen table.
“In preparation,” Alex had said.
And Alex’s cock was big. The biggest Henry had ever had, by a long-shot.
But… it was not this.
And now.
Now.
Henry was on his knees on the bed, shoulders and face pressed into the mattress. It was not an unfamiliar position by any means, but he was just starting to catch glimpses of an unfamiliar feeling.
“How’re ya doin baby?” Alex asked from behind him, now four fingers deep.
When they were fucking, he usually only needed about three fingers before he was ready for Alex. Unless he was really craving the stretch, then he would beg for it after two.
When Alex had slipped in the fourth finger, Henry’s face momentarily twisted in discomfort before evening back out into pleasure.
“S’good love,” Henry said through lips smushed sideways on the bed. “S’full.”
“I’m sure it is baby, you’re doing so well,” Alex encouraged as he began flexing his fingers deep inside Henry’s hole, scissoring him open further. “You should see how open you look for me.”
Henry reached behind himself and spread his cheeks, giving Alex an even better view. He could practically see inside of Henry at this point. It was all Alex could do not to give in and slip his cock inside Henry’s needy hole.
But that’s not what this was about. This was about pushing Henry’s limits and letting him experience everything he’s ever wanted.
Alex continued to pump his four thick fingers in and out of Henry, carefully avoiding his prostate so this wouldn’t be over too soon.
Henry met Alex’s fingers by pressing back against them, taking them to the hilt. “M’ready, love.”
“You sure sweetheart?” Alex asked with trepidation.
“Mmmmm,” Henry groaned into the mattress. “Please,” he whined.
Alex took a deep breath, withdrew to just his second knuckle, and aligned his thumb with the rest of his hand. He expected some level of resistance or pushback.
There was none.
His entire hand slid inside of Henry, who was now gaping on one end and gasping for air on the other.
Alex used his other hand to rub slow circles on Henry’s lower back, “I’m here baby, I’m here I’ve got you.”
“So much,” Henry cried.
“Too much?” Alex asked and his movements hesitated.
Henry shook his head wildly, “no no no no, perfect, everything, full, more.”
He continued to babble one word sentences, incapable of forming fully intelligible thoughts.
But Alex understood, and continued moving the full girth of his fist inside of Henry. Watching as it was swallowed whole by Henry’s hole over and over again was almost too much to watch.
“So loose for me love that’s it,” Alex encouraged. “Look at that pretty, puffy, greedy little hole.”
Henry wailed as one final thrust of Alex’s fist sent him reeling.
Tears streamed down Henry’s face, his breathing was completely erratic, his entire body fell limply into the mattress.
And Alex? Alex was so in love he could die.
*
I couldn’t fucking help myself but to finish it that way okay now please LOOK AWAY AVERT YOUR EYES DONT perceive me
Henry sipped at the tea with a theatrical grimace, and Alex couldn’t help but grin. For a guy who had survived brutal royal schedules, state dinners, and relentless public scrutiny, Henry was shockingly bad at being sick.
“I don’t understand how this happened,” Henry muttered, his voice hoarse. “One minute, I was fine. The next—” He waved a weak hand in the air, letting it flop dramatically against the couch. “This.”
Alex sat back on his heels, looking down at Henry with something caught between amusement and sympathy. He gently tugged the mug from Henry’s hands and placed it on the table before pulling the blanket tighter around him.
“The flu doesn't usually come with a warning, sweetheart.” Alex said with a laugh, brushing a stray curl from Henry’s forehead. “But don't worry, Your Majesty, I'll nurse you back to life in no time."
Henry let out a soft laugh, but it quickly dissolved into a cough that wracked his body, leaving him shivering under the blanket. Alex’s heart clenched, and he shot Henry a worried glance over his shoulder.
“Just take it easy, Hen” he said softly, grabbing a water bottle from the fridge and walking back over to the couch. He handed it to Henry, who took it gratefully, his fingers trembling slightly as he unscrewed the cap.
The thing was, Henry wasn’t fragile. He was strong in ways most people couldn’t even begin to understand. But Alex knew the weight Henry carried, the constant pressure of royal life, the way he held himself together for the world. And maybe that’s why seeing him like this—oft and unguarded in a way only Alex got to witness—hit Alex so deeply. It made something tighten in his chest, this sudden awareness of just how much he loved the man lying in front of him.
Henry eventually set the water down and rested his head against the back of the couch, closing his eyes again. Alex reached out, resting a hand on his shoulder, feeling the tension there, the fatigue settling into his bones.
“Hey,” Alex said softly, his voice gentle. “Why didn’t you tell me you were feeling this bad? I would’ve come home earlier.”
Henry opened his eyes slowly, a weak smile tugging at the corners of his lips. “I didn’t want to be a bother.”
Alex’s heart squeezed. “Baby, you’re literally the opposite of a bother. You could’ve called me, and I would’ve been here in a heartbeat.”
"Your mock trial is less than a week away and I know your team is counting on you. I didn’t want to interrupt your plans for the sake of a sniffle.”
Alex scoffed, shaking his head. “A sniffle? Hen, you’re burning up. You’ve been running yourself ragged between the shelter and all flying back and forth. You’re allowed to say no, to be tired. You deserve to be taken care of. You're allowed all of it, Hen.”
Henry blinked, surprised by the sudden intensity in Alex’s voice. For a moment, he didn’t say anything, just stared at Alex with those deep blue eyes that always seemed to hold a thousand unspoken thoughts.
“I know,” Henry said quietly, his voice barely a whisper. "I miss you. I miss being home,"
Alex softened, leaning in and brushing a gentle kiss against Henry’s temple. “I miss you too,” he whispered. “I'm so proud of all the work you're doing, but I need you to put yourself first. You're my whole world, baby.”
Henry closed his eyes again, but this time there was a warmth in his expression, something softer. He leaned into Alex’s touch, his head resting against Alex’s shoulder, the weight of it feeling so natural, so right.
For a while, they stayed like that—Henry nestled into Alex’s side, breathing slow and steady, Alex’s arm wrapped around him, holding him close. The TV played some random show in the background, but neither of them was paying attention. The world outside could wait. Right now, it was just them.
After a few minutes, Henry stirred, his voice soft and drowsy. “You know, in the movies, the prince usually rescues someone. Not the other way around.”
Alex smirked, pressing another kiss to the top of Henry’s head. “Well, this isn’t a movie. And besides, I've stormed castles for you, baby. I'll fight the devil and God for you.”
"I adore you." Henry smiled against Alex’s chest, his body finally relaxing fully, the fever pulling him deeper into sleep. Alex watched him, his heart full, a quiet sense of peace settling over him.
Alex leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to Henry’s forehead, feeling the faint pulse of warmth beneath his lips.
“I’m not going anywhere,” Alex whispered, his voice barely audible in the quiet of the room. “Not ever.”
Henry stirred slightly in his sleep, a soft murmur escaping his lips, but he didn’t wake. Alex smiled, his heart full as he stood and quietly retrieved a few more blankets from the linen closet. He draped them gently over Henry’s sleeping form, making sure he was warm, comfortable, protected.
