🔥 Do you like Dragons or Phoenixes? I like both but I’m not crazy about either. I love animal companions in books but I don’t care if it’s a dragon or phoenix. If I’m being honest, of they act like dogs and I’ll fall in love with them 😂 #dogmom. In Crown of Feathers, riders have a special bond with their phoenix. Almost like their souls become connected and they can feel and understand each other’s emotions and thoughts.⠀ .⠀ 🔥 I really feel like this is one of the most underrated fantasy books to come out in 2019. Nicki Pau Preto did an amazing job at creating this world. It takes a while to get into it because there’s a lot of information to absorb in the beginning, but once you do, it’s amazing and totally worth it. CoF reminds me of classic fantasy with all the history she’s put into the book. The book is infused with so much lore with excerpts from ancient scrolls, proverbs, historical records and statements. It really feels like this land has a long history behind them. And I think that’s what I appreciated the most about the book. The story is super fun but it was the richness of the world-building that made me love this book.
