#firstspin of 2023 was this fascinating progressive folk album that appeared in my hand at Rough Trade last week. This is the kind of alternate universe stuff I love to find - a band you never heard of that has a whole history (including a terrible review in the 1979 Rolling Stone Record Guide 😂) and an original sound.
