Tri-d a new thing I’ve been wanting to do for awhile yesterday! Tri Boulder Olympic distance (.93 mi swim, 26.4 mi bike, 10k/6.2 mi run). And I learned a few things if I do another. 1. The swim in open water not being able to see anything underwater or anyone right next to me until they ran into me or markers around me without looking up and swimming through waves and into the sun was a little overwhelming and difficult. I had a small moment of panic in the first part of the swim about making it back, but it passed (they also had kayaks you could rest on periodically and people on jet skis watching and driving around). 2. Finally accept that if I want to go really, really fast on the bike I need to just get clip ons and not wear running shoes for the bike :) 3. Work on transitions. Some people had 1 minute transitions in between? Impressive. 4. Practice more dual activity workouts, like swim to bike and bike to run. 5. I might be more competitive in the half Tri since it’s longer and more running heavy. Well that was fun! And exhausting! #FirstTri #Triathlon (at Boulder Reservoir)
