Lonely field of green
I'm lying alone in a field of green With thunder crashing right overhead. It's the calmest picture I've ever seen While inside, the chaos churns dark and red. I'm sure you remember our days together With the orange twirls dripping juice down our chins And dancing barefoot no matter the weather And wincing at the sunburns on the backs of our shins. I'm sure you as well miss our weekend adventures Laughing about our sinking river raft Grabbing the other's arms to clamber up the boulders And singing in the sunset shafts. I'm sure you loved giggling 'till morning Sneaking through the house to secretly snack Hiding under blankets and talking about anything; Our minds were full, and the world was blank. But now I lay alone in a field of green Wishing you were lying right here next to me. My heart is crying for what could have been If together we forever could be.
