Uni prep has officially started! Spent the last week at uni doing an academic preparation program which has made me feel more ready for uni and also meant I have met a tonne of lovely people who are doing the same thing I am!
Best part was on Friday, surrounded by over 300 people who are doing the same advanced degree, having an intellectual discussion with one of the coolest academics I have ever met.
It’s such a contrast, going from high school where it was essentially looked down upon for being curious and intelligent, where despising learning and study was the norm, a place where popularity dictated your actions and social protocol controlled your decisions both inside and outside the classroom. All of a sudden I was among people who had the same experience at I did, and suddenly loving science and study was the norm, wanting to debate your opinion and express your ideas and have a voice with no subsequent negative social repercussions was extraordinary. I’m so excited to see what this year can bring!
