Second day of the semester and these are my communication, global marketing, and retailing notes! Extremely tired now so I’m going to just study Spanish and then fall asleep more than likely. Hope you all had a wonderful day :)

Haven’t uploaded much on my tumblr but I’ve been busy on my ig (@miavibes if you want to follow 😍). Recently I have been so so so intensely into journaling again, so here are some of my Moleskine and muji journal pages and some materials I use for journaling.

So this is a story with two sides to it.
It’s a (very real) story of the good vs. bad sides of surgery.
Let me start from the beginning…
It’s Friday morning. It’s consultant ward round. The reg has messaged the consultant that he won’t be coming to ward round (although he rarely does) because a ruptured AAA has come into the hospital and needs repair.
The consultant looks round at the group on ward round this morning.
Standing around him is the medical student, two FY1s, one FY2, and the nurse-in-charge. The only male out of this odd group of people is the other FY1.
“But why does his gender matter?!” I hear you say.
Because the consultant then proceeds to ask the male FY1 if he wants to go to theatre. The FY1 says that he can’t because he has a meeting that morning. The consultant offers to call their supervisor to rearrange the meeting.
The entire time this conversation is happening, the consultant has not looked at the rest of us, who all happen to be female, and asked us if we want to go. Not once. The nurse in charge tried to draw attention to the fact that, yes, I, the female FY1, would like to go to theatre.
In the end, I went. And it was possibly one of the highlights of my medical career so far.
“How many times have you ever seen the inside of an abdomen?”
The answer is, only a handful of times.
And nothing as impressive as this repair. I was able to scrub in, and allowed to close a smaller wound.
I know this isn’t very poetic or descriptive, but.. damn, it was cool.
Ultimately, this was a great experience slightly soured by how hard I had to fight to be heard.
I’m going to have very thick skin by the end of the year.
08.21.2019 notes from my second day of my ap psychology class! i’m loving it so much so far.
if you are seeing this, you are going to prosper. you are experiencing a new part of your life where you will bloom into a better version of yourself and flourish. abundance is coming your way; love is coming your way; peace and clarity are coming your way. you have nothing to fear and even less to worry about. the darkness around you has been the soil and you are now getting ready to sprout. you are going to prosper
Meeting the family, doctor edition.
Second day doing the wards, and for some reason all the family members were present today, so I got to hear their opinions of me….
Daughter of patient #1 : “She must be the giggly doctor you were talking about?”
Daughter of patient #2 : “He told me he had a doctor who smiled a lot! That was the first thing he said about you!”
Wife of patient #3 : “He told me you weren’t like the others, that you could restore my faith in doctors. That you took time to listen to him and encourage him.”
Got myself a wireless keyboard!! Loving it so far. Currently working on my CIS notes! After my first lecture I realized this class isn’t a place to slack off. Especially with a professor that has a thick accent and needs my full attention to be properly heard. Great professor though, knows all her stuff and is very organized. Guess I’ll be having coffee every time before this class. ☕️
