okay. I’m sticking my neck out because I don’t know what to do, and I need help. I don’t care if people get mad at me at this point, I’ve beaten myself up over and over again over this.

I don’t know what to do. I have two mollies in a 20 gallon tank, I feed them once a day, I do water changes weekly, and I change the filter out every month. They behave fine, and they like swimming up to me when I approach the tank, and they chase my hand when I give them food. I’m just really scared because this is my second time ever keeping fish, and this doesn’t seem normal. I’m asking for help because I desperately need it.

These two are my babies, and they’re the reason I’ve kept going for so long. I don’t know what I’d do without them, and so I need help. Please help.

List of Pea Puffer questions to research

Okay so I am a little (a lot) in love with pea puffers, I would love to have one in the future! (And I have an empty 10 gallon tank soooo it's very possible!!!) So I'm starting to do research on it and these are just a few questions I have yet to find answers for. I'll do some searches for this specific info later, but if anyone wants to chip in their answers I'd love to hear it (especially on the first question)! Also if you have any care sheets or good resources, please link me!

Water hardness/pH: my water is very much on the basic side, which I'm guessing means it's hard water (8.0 out of the tap, I can get it down to like 7.6 with a boatload of tannins). I read pea puffers like neutral to moderately hard/basic water, is this too basic for them?

Could a single pea puffer live with a group of red cherry shrimp in a 10 gallon? I read that they might eat the smaller ones but adults should be big enough to avoid being eaten in a densely planted tank. Need to do more research though.

Can two pea puffers live in a 10? I've seen lots of conflicting info on this (some say 5 gallons per fish, others say 10+5 per additional fish), so I'm leaning towards no but I still want to do further research on it. If there can be two, does their sex matter?

How easily stressed are pea puffers? Ie if I have to move them from college to my house and back, possibly a few times, will they be okay or is it too hard on them?

How much do you feed them? Can they live on snails alone, or do they need other foods as well? how many snails per day do you give them? (I will probably breed my own snails in a separate tank).

Are there any common illnesses to look out for? Are they as prone to problems as bettas are? Signs of a sick or stressed puffer?

Do they mind high flow filters? I've been using sponge filters for my bettas, but I have a few HOBs that are still in their boxes that I would use if possible.

Do they need a lid on their tank? I know bettas do because they can jump, but I don't have a lid for my empty 10.

is there even a fish you can keep in a 1.5 liter tank?

 that’s so tiny. can you seriously keep something in those? or is it just an abundance of undersized tanks marketed to fish who require way more space?

tell me about kuhli loaches

I have plans for a planted 55 gallon tank in the future, after I move. Even after the move, I won't be ready for a while. I'd say at least a year... but that gives me more time to gather info! :D ANYWAY, I'd love to have a little gang of kuhli loaches but I'm not entirely sure what fish would do well with them. I know the little noodles are more active at night and are peaceful little guys but, this will be my first /real/ community tank and I don't want to make any mistakes. If you have kuhli loaches, what other fish do you keep with them? How many do you have? How many hiding spots should be provided per loach? What do they eat aside from algae wafers, and what is the best way to feed them? Thanks so much for any help you could give me, and sorry for all the questions. I just want to provide the best care for my future tank :)

Do you still take fish setup questions? I’m setting up a betta aquarium that’s 10 gallons (running nitrate/nitrite cycle no fish yet) and wanted to know if you could recommend a good heater, the one i got has the temp at 76F but my apartment gets cold and i’m worried it’s on the low side

Of course I do!!!!

There's all sorts of heaters, and I know a lot of people will order hygger heaters online.

I have a fluval heater in my 10 gallon, and my bedroom gets to 60° overnight, and my female Betta imbellis is happy enough, so are the shrimp!!!!

Tbh the only heater I wouldn't recommend for anything would be tetra. Frankly, they're the cheapest, bottom of the line in quality. I've never liked tetra.
