Imagining a scenario where Adrian or some eridian scientist thinks that the bond that Rocky and Grace have is unhealthy (it is) and toxic (not quite), so they petition to have them removed from each other for a little bit to help them ween off their desperate bond.

Rocky is prevented from going to the biodome to see Grace and is given more time with Adrian ( which they think is wonderful! they love their mate and have truely needed to go see their old friends more!) but slowly devolves back to their time on the ship: thinking about their shipmates who died because Rocky couldn’t do anything; thinking about Grace who’s alone now, without them, no one to what him sleep or who walks on the beach, who Rocky depends on as the only other person who really understands what Rocky went through in those 40 years…

Grace is left in his biodome and told that he can’t see Rocky anymore because it’s for the best but Grace doesn’t see anyone outside of Rocky and Adrian, and Adrian’s time is being spent with Rocky now. The only eridians who come to see Grace are the scientists or biodome experts, and they talk to Grace but they don’t stay with him! They don’t watch movies with him, nor go for walks on the beach, nor sit and lay together despite the hard layer of xenonite keeping them apart, because they need to ensure each other is still alive because their the only ones each other have on the space ship. Grace is back on the ship alone with no one but two bodies of people he doesn’t even remember; only he does now and it doesn’t matter because their dead and Rocky is Gone. Grace deteriorates quickly: not leaving the house, watching movies, not eating, can’t sleep, getting irritatable and hostile; walking out to the beach and screaming at the biodome door that the eridians use: screaming how he’s sane, he’s fine, this isn’t fair, they can’t DO this to him again, he can’t do it again he can’t he can’t HE CANT

Grace cries and screams at the door till his voice is hoarse and he has to drag himself back to his house so he can curl up Alone and cry over the lose of another friend.

Grace wonders if Rocky wanted this. If maybe Grace was too much and now Rocky needed a break from him. He’s too important for earth and he’s not important enough for Erid. What a sad pathetic existence!

The scientists eventually see that both saviors might genuinely kill themselves if they are separated any longer and allow them to reunite! Rocky and Grace spending the next 24 hours physically attached because they need to make sure the other is alive/still cares about them and wants them around.

The eridians finally noticing that they need to see each other again before they both go crazy from separation

I think people really need to make there own stories and interpretations about TFO, im saying this because im ready alot of fics rn after awhile of not reading anything and there all so cookie cutter? TFO was such a breath of fresh air for the characters origins and stuff that im like... i dont kinda annoyed that people are going straight back to the little box of character stereotypes that dont even fit most versions of the characters when they write any of the TFO characters. like why are we using the "Shockwave is emotionless" card when he had some pretty clear and expressive emotions, why are we the "Megatron was always evil card" right now did you even watch the fucking movie?

like please dude you have all this new story to work with and come up with new idea about the characters and how there relationships ae and you just ignore it all to go back to the weird g1/fanon esq versions of them that have no deeper meanings or stories and once again i am bringing it back to Starscream because why are we assuming that Starscream is going to be a the pathetic second in command whos gonna constantly plot to kill Megatron and constantly get beaten because they had ONE FIGHT SCENE THAT STARSCREAM LITERILLY EGGED HIM ON IN TO KEEP FIGHTING. and i like the dynamic they have in that way sometimes but yall make it so black and white its not even fun or interesting to read. people just make Megatron this thoughtless abuser but then say the abuse is justified because oooh look Starscreams plotting against him. mf can you be a bit creative? i mean i read a fic that supposedly is right after TFO end and Megatrons already beating Starscream and Starscream only for no reason? Starscream decides to plot against him for no reason apart from "he took my throne"? (THE ONE HE EGGED HIM ON TO FIGHT FOR AND TAKE) no progression or build up to what might be an increasingly violent but close relationship

and i could say the same about megop in TFO fics i mean they were best fucking friends yall, but i think this post is getting long and i probably sound stupid anyway. this is my monthly rant

Megatron is a lot more robotic (pun not intended) in how he behaves than Optimus is.

I go back to the line where he says "I stepped out of line I deserved to get punished" and holy shit-

THAT'S LITERALLY HOW HE SEES THE WORLD THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE MOVIE.

So how did Megatron end up saying that? Well D-16 and Orion were getting out of the mines, as Elita was fired, Orion is the first to stand up for her. When he gets pushed away, Orion immediately returns with one of the best jokes in the entire movie (limited options, limited middle fingers lol).

D 16 doesn't do anything until Orion is physically attacked, to which he finally intervenes and tries to handle the punishment himself, "allow me, I apologize on behalf-"

When they cut to them in the dorm area, this is where D-16/Megatron states those lines. The context is important, but what is most important is the lines themselves. When you look at the rest of the movie through those lens "stepped out of line... Deserved to be punished" it gets easier and easier to see where D-16 ends and Megatron begins. (AND ITS A HELL OF A LOT EARLIER THAN THE RED EYES)

D-16 follows protocol like his life depends on it, much like elita. Except elita has a brain cell and D-16 shares his with Orion (stupid gay men/pos).

While orion is constantly finding good to come from chaos and braking protocol, D-16 is always concerned with the punishment that follows, after all, they've stepped out of line, they deserved to be punished.

When the truth is revealed, D-16 begins to slowly take this idea further.

Sentinel betrayed us, therefore Sentinel is stepping out of line, therefore Sentinel must be punished. (This is the earlier flickers of Megatron imo, since D-16 is worried about himself getting punishment, and Megatron about him giving punishment to others he deems that deserve it)

But additionally, he still follows his protocol, as he throws his badge and stomps on it, the first sentences out of his mouth are not how sentinel betrayed them, but on how Orion ruined HIS life by breaking protocol.

We stepped out of line, and now we cogless miners will be punished

It's clear he does not give a shit about what the others are believing, like how he didn't give a shit about elita being fired, just Orion being punched. He didn't give a shit about how the others were also, betrayed by sentinel, just on how sentinel killed his celebrity crush and took his cog, and how now that he knows the truth and stepped out of line with orion, he is going to be punished.

Before being attacked by steve buscemi's high guards Megatron (imo D-16 is barely there at this point, if at all) says something along the lines that the entire planet of cybertron "worships Sentinel"

That's not true. Or at least, that's illogical from an outside perspective.

But you know who did?

He did.

Megatron is projecting what he feels, how he acts, and how he thinks onto others, and takes any deviation as a personal attack.

Starscream just makes this worse.

when Optimus is trying to stop a now Megatron from killing Sentinel, this idea is pushed to one of its first limits.

Optimus, is thinking different than me, therefore Optimus is stepping out of line, therefore Optimus must be punished.

Why does G1 Megatron hire traitors as allies (Steve buscemi, the insecticons, etc)? Because they think like him. When they actually move on with this betrayal, they are stepping out of line, and therefore must be punished.

orion/Optimus doesn't act like this.

He constantly evolves. He changes his stance on things (example: the dino bots from G1)

It's a lot harder to pinpoint (imo) where Orion ends and Optimus begins, it's more gradual, fluid even.

Not like Megatron's, which is a lot more sharp, but also, not out of nowhere.

Megatron has always been like that tho, even as D-16, just- slightly modified.

Also the fact that literally no one but Megatron had tear stains on their faces, GLITCH JUST MAKE OUT FOR FRAGGS SAKE.

But back to optimus, where Megatron focuses on punishment, Optimus focuses on opportunity.

A good example is the first interaction they have in the train, D-16 is asking pax to stay on protocol in fear of getting reprimanded, pax is gushing about how his risks are creating an opportunity to help find the matrix.

Where the deceptions are exiled from iacon, Optimus sees this as not only the loss of a lover (cause I mean- let's be real) but also an opportunity to move on and rebuild what had been destroyed. (While Megatron cries over the served divorce papers)

Optimus evolves, his rules and ideals bend and change (except for some) to fit the situation. His morals and honor are the only thing that's stay the same.

His stances on humans change, his stances on Megatron, his once close partner, change.

He gets better, he learns more, he becomes more real. He moves on.

Megatron doesn't. He thinks that is stepping out of line. He thinks that should be punished.

And omfg translating this to yaoi makes for such a heartbreaking ship holy fucking shit.

All my works on ao3 have been locked for the foreseeable future… I never wanted to have to do this but recent events have left me no choice.

Monthly payment BS aside, and purely from like, a business standpoint,

HOW does watcher expect to expand their fan/userbase like this??? What person who isn’t familiar with any of their existing shows and hasn’t followed them will pay for it????

Even leaving all the old shows on YouTube, as much as I love them, what new fan would feel the desire to pay for their service when the market is SO saturated???

One of the main reasons that other streaming services work is because they have well known shows and movies as well as mass advertising for their originals???

Not to mention that one of the main issues people are concerned with right now is like, how EVERYTHING is a monthly payment and how all media is being paywalled???

Just. In what world would this be a good business move. Because it’s not this one.

I stfg. I am like 99.99% sure I have ADHD and like,,, I was coping. I was ok pre lockdown in Aus. Now I literally feel like I am coming apart at the seams... stfg. I have tried getting into a routine so I have some structure. Nope... bish said no thanks. Three days ago, I literally tore my room apart looking for an adapter only to give up (and unfortunately not clean my room for 3 days) and find it TODAY connected to the charger I was looking for. I literally looked in that place so many times three days ago. WHY DIDN’T I SEE IT? this is starting to drive me insane.

@everyone whining about how 'elitist' working real magick is:

I'm a broke retail worker. My cupboard is in no way built for magickal workings at this point in time as I'm still relatively new to magick.

But I used what I had on hand, spent a dollar on a candle, worked some fucking magick to get me more hours at my current job and got called in to take over someone's shift in less than 12 hours. Two days later, I'm one of the peeps with the most shifts on the schedule.

Stop whining and work some magick.
