This one got away from me toward the end of the North Star Auction today — a stylized version of gyotaku, or fish rubbing, a kind of nature print.

"The Prize Fighter", 14x22, original hand-inked gyotaku, using water soluble ink and hand rubbed onto handmade mulberry paper. This kumu, or whitesaddle goatfish was speared off the shore of Maui, Hawaii near Makena Beach.
