Is it me, or are baseball stitch, fishbone stitch, and parachute stitch all different names for the same stitch?

Once you've got all those basic outline stitches down, you've got to start working on some fill stitches! Satin stitch is the easiest and most commonly used stitch, while long and short stitch is the basis of thread painting. Fishbone can be done so many different ways just by alteration the angles, space, and length of the stitches, but it's always going to be best for leaves. And finally, crow's foot... well, okay, there's not a lot you can do with crow's foot, but I just think it's super fun!

Hello!

I really want to get into embroidery seriously and share my work/works Here is something I decided to make to practice different stitches.

Red- French knot

Light blue- stem

Yellow- fishbone

Another Christmas present in the works!! This is a gift for a friend of mine whose name sarts with S- so she can hang it in her bedroom.

The S is in 4 ply heavy chain stitch (DMC 03), but I haven’t decided if I’m going to fill in in or not yet. The light green leaves are a variant of 2 ply satin stitch that I described in my post about the bikes tea towel I did a while back. All the stems are 2 ply back stitch. The dark green leaves are 2 ply fish one stitch in DMC 367. The flowers are going to be a couple shades of pink, the first of which idk the name of, but it’ll be the flowers made of colonial knots like I’ve done so far.

New WIP!! Sorry it’s been a while. This is for my friend Bita, the things that look like really big leaves will be lavender flowers (patterns always look weird). It’s been kind of a struggle so far because I didn’t know what the fill in the letters with and I still don’t really know what I’m doing with the leaves?

The outline (2 ply) and stems(3 ply) are stem stitch, the lettering is 6 ply backstitch, mostly, and I kind of made up the leaves as I went- they’re 3 ply and it’s sort of similar to fishbone stitch. Basically I’m just doing one straight stitch down the middle and then making little tiny overlapping X’s all the way down. I’ve done the same thing for all of them but they all look sort of unique, so who knows.
