These Thai fish burgers are a delicious twist on the classic burger. Made with white fish fillets and Thai-inspired flavors like cilantro, garlic, and chili, they are bursting with flavor. Topped with crunchy veggies and a zesty Sriracha mayo, these burgers are perfect for a quick and healthy meal.
Ingredients: 1 lb 450g white fish fillets, such as cod or tilapia. 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 small red chili pepper, finely chopped. 1/4 cup breadcrumbs. 1 egg. 1 tablespoon fish sauce. 1 tablespoon lime juice. 1 teaspoon grated ginger. Salt and pepper to taste. 4 whole wheat burger buns. 1 cup shredded lettuce. 1 cucumber, thinly sliced. 1/2 cup sliced red onion. Sriracha mayo for serving. Lime wedges for garnish.
Instructions: In a food processor, combine the white fish fillets, cilantro, garlic, red chili pepper, breadcrumbs, egg, fish sauce, lime juice, ginger, salt, and pepper. Pulse until the mixture is well combined. Form the mixture into 4 burger patties and place them on a plate. Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly grease it with cooking spray or oil. Grill the fish burgers for about 4-5 minutes per side or until they are cooked through and have grill marks. You can also cook them in a skillet on the stovetop if you prefer. While the burgers are cooking, toast the whole wheat burger buns on the grill until they are lightly browned. To assemble the burgers, spread a generous amount of Sriracha mayo on the bottom half of each bun. Place a fish burger patty on top of the mayo. Top each burger with shredded lettuce, cucumber slices, and sliced red onion. Squeeze a fresh lime wedge over the toppings for extra flavor. Finally, place the top half of the toasted bun on the assembled burger. Serve the Thai fish burgers hot and enjoy!
