The man dug in his bag as he walked, occasionally tossing items he no longer had a use for. He had exhausted his resources in the last couple of towns and he was sure the old name would be more of a hindrance now. He considered the costumes he had on hand. Running a hand through her hair and a glance into the nearest puddle told him that noble disguise was not in the cards. He sulked a bit, the amount of places you could get into if you looked important enough. She dug for a bit before settling on a couple of somewhat fancy but still quite messy clothes.
He had slept a few months in an alley near a college so maybe he could sale being some kind of student. A scientist maybe? He pulled out a dingy book and shouldered the bag. With the little ink he had he began making notes of all the things he could remember overhearing. After he was satisfied, he flipped back to his page on names, putting a check near "Philip Creak" as he would not be using that one for a bit. Running the quill down he stopped on the name "Fitch" this one was quite old now, the check faded.
"Fitch the Scientist from, hm, the west" He mused out loud, "Good day" he repeated several times testing different voices.
"Germs! A plague spreads across the world!" He says loudly copying a news article he slept on once.
"You people disgust me. Too proper. I think I have the most experience in this department. Better. I can-"
He stopped his practice as the walls of a town came into view. He retreated to quickly change not expecting to have hit a town so soon. Stashing his bigger bag in some roots, he switched to a much humbler bag and filled it with anything he thought looked sciency. He stopped and grabbed some plants he knew were not poisonous and took a deep breath.
