Whole(30) Adventure - Day 3
At the request of some of my lady friends, I will begin journaling my Whole30 experience. You get to see all the crazy, fun, sad, depressing, energetic times that go along with the program. Although I will try my hardest, I am NOT the best journal-er. So, bear with my sporadic ramblings.
If you have not heard about it, the Whole30 program is similar to the Paleo program and focuses on eating 100% whole foods. Through this program you cut out all the inflammation causing foods (dairy, gluten, legumes, sugars and chemically altered food). You do this for 30 days and after that you can slowly add those substances back into your diet and see how it affects your body and mood. The best part about this program (for me) is that 95% of all its resources (and there is a TON of resources) are free. So, there is no getting a counselor, no buying shakes or food that is delivered to your door and best of all no counting. They actually tell you to get rid of your scales because it is not about weight or calories it’s about health.
You are asking yourself “why am I doing this program”? The girl who loves Little Debbie’s and Fettuccini Alfredo. The one who would rather eat microwavable meals, then spend a minute over a stove. The chick who wrestled up a weight class because she didn’t want to have to stop eating all the nom noms!!
Yeah I’m asking myself the same question … jk!
Actually I have very specific reasons for doing this program.
I have an UNBELIEVABLE addiction to sugar. Like, it’s bad, really bad. I will kill for some Debbie Cakes, just saying. And don’t even get me started on donuts, I can put away some donuts.
I have a family history of gluten intolerance/Celiac’s disease. Although I have known about this one for a long time, I see this as being an opportunity to cut the gluten from my diet and then (properly) reintroduce it to see if I carry the same gene that my relatives do.
If I lose a little weight from all this … then GREAT! :)
Stay tuned to all the fun that Michael and I will have on our next 28 days as we count down to the end of this program.

*NOTE*
Feel free to write back to me on here or otherwise and I will try to answer any questions that you may have. I would love tips, feedback or comments of things that you did for the Whole30 program. I will even checkout any articles or facts that you have about the program (whether negative or positive). But, if you disagree with anything that I say or the program says for the soul purpose of disagreement, please keep it to yourself.
