Lots of questions for you! Hope you're ready. How did you actually push your self to get fit and accomplish it? Did you quit a few times before you went through with it? How did you manage to fit in working out with your life schedule? What did you do about figuring out food to eat? My big problem is figuring out recipes or new foods to eat beside the same two meats, vegetables, and so forth. Do you still eat healthy and work out during cons or are they an exception?
How did you actually push your self to get fit and accomplish it?
In the beginning, I motivated myself with my desire to change. I was unhappy and disappointed with how I looked, so what kept me staying on track was the want to change that. After a little while, I started feeling good; I was sleeping better, had more energy, clothes fit better, my skin was cleaning up, and people were noticing even small changes. When all that started happening, it acted as my motivation! When i was eating clean and working out, i felt really great, so of course I kept doing it!
Did you quit a few times before you went through with it?
Unfortunately, yeah. I think the reason I quit before was because I wasnt committed, and didnt have a sort of plan. I just kind of went outside and ran a little bit, and kind of ate things that might have been healthy but I wasn’t really sure? The reason I tell so many people that couch to 5k is really awesome is because it’s a set routine that anyone can follow, regardless of their skill level. Same with My Fitness Pal; Eating healthy is SO much easier when you have food breakdowns! Having something set to do that is proven to work reaaaally helps keep you on track!
How did you manage to fit in working out with your life schedule?
When I first started, all I was doing was Couch to 5k, which is just 20 minutes every other day. Eeeeveryone has 20 spare minutes a day, whether it be in the morning before you start your day, or at night after everything is done. Now, i have a set time I go to the gym every day with Matt, we were sure to pick a time that we knew we’d be home and done with school/work, and we stick to that time. Sometimes he has to (literally) drag me away from my sewing, but we stick to it!

Honestly, it can get boring some times. There are some really good subreddits with food ideas though! there’s fitmeals which tags everything so you know what youre getting in to before you read the recipe, its super helpful when youre getting bored of the same things over and over again!
Do you still eat healthy and work out during cons or are they an exception?
…Sort of. ;_; Matt and i TRY to go to the closest gym during cons, but sometimes it’s just not possible. I also usually dedicate saturday nights to partying with friends (since I dont usually cosplay on sundays) which usually turns in to eating a bunch of crappy food. A single night of eating whatever isn’t going to set you back a month, so we just kind of go with it and dont let our diet plans restrict us from having fun with friends once every few months!
