BIG CHANGES ARE LITTLE CHANGED ADDED UP
How can a person walk before they crawl, or sprint before they walk. Why are we all trying to be at a "finish" line of eating right and exercises before we even understand the basics.
Our society is a proud "busy" society, that relies on quick fixes and short cuts. There is such thing as efficiency but most of the time we are just cookie cutter. There will NEVER be a quick fix in the fitness world, which is why people quit.
Here is some truth:
1. There is never a perfect time to start. Even on a Monday.
2. It will never get easier to fit into your schedule. You will work at it every day.
3. You will fall off the path which means you will have to pick yourself back up and get back on.
4. You will sweat. Emotionally and physically
5. It will be hard WORK. The benefits are great because of the work you have to put into it.
Change your mindset and change your life. Your health is in YOUR hands. Stop blaming your "busy schedule", work obligations, family life, health, doctor, injuries, limitations, past experiences. Stop wallowing in self pity that you aren't in the "shape you once were" and start working towards a better life. Is it really so horrible to give up your binge drinking and nightly chocolate fix to have more energy, be more healthy and happy?
If you aren't ever going to change your habits then move onto the acceptance. Accept that you will be winded going up the stairs, that your chest will tighten when you get too excited, that your sex life will take a nose dive, you feel inadequate going to your 30 year reunion being 20 pounds over weight and that your pant size has doubled. Don't complain about it, or bring others down to your level. No making fun of that "skinny young thing" or the guy that has big muscles- you believe people who look like that are fanatics that have no life. Those people have put in the work and don't need your self hate to destroy their self esteem. Accept that you accept to live this life more tired, angry, and unhappy.
Or you could get out of your own way - get your head out of the diet pill bottle and begin to live life to the fullest. It will be LONG journey.
