it's very possible that- someway somehow- in an "original" timeline, all that crap still happens to Five. All of it. And that's why he was told not to save the world. Because it gets destroyed, Five able to escape it, retreats to a moment out of time, and creates the commission to stop it all from happening or securing that loop.
Clearly now it's not perfect anymore or he is close to fixing it from happening or something along those lines. Since older Five lost his arm and our Five got his back with the factory reset of the timeline.
I dunno it's gonna be interesting to see what they do with it. I've got my own idea on a post season 3 story that I've been jokingly calling "season 4" even though I know Steve Blackman has apparently already pitched season 4 to netflix and he sees it as the last one. which if they end it well I'm not even gonna be upset over it.
