This morning I had intended to go on just a walk in Trent Park. That is what I said to my girlfriend. Also I was giving myself two complete days of rest from the excessive Tree Climbing I had done on Sunday. While I might be getting used to the rigours of excessive climbing I’m also aware of the need of body rest when necessary. In this video I’m also pointing out a pertinent safety point for any of you who decides to follow in my footsteps that you must be aware of. It is very important what shoes you’re wearing. They could be a lifesaver. The grip on the soles and the flexibility in your ankles and feet is vital. In the ideal climate barefoot would be the best way to climb albeit I would always wear protection for my feet. As I had previously mentioned I hadn’t intended climbing trees 🌳 today but as luck would have it I found one to climb. However, I was wearing hiking shoes 👞 and not climbing tree trunks and branches capability 🌲 shoes. I’m not referring to the type of shoe you would use for climbing rocks or indoor bouldering you need a different type of shoe that is far more flexible to manoeuvre and to grip. The one shoe I highly recommend is Vibram five fingers as in my opinion it is built for the job in that it’s shape mimics the contours of foot. But most certainly not to be worn are any shoe similar to those I wore today as there were repercussions as you can see I hurt my shin. This was because tough boots do not offer the manoeuverability and get in the way of what the feet want to do so I had no choice but to kneel on the branch hence the graze. As you also can see in this video what part of the trunk seems the most obvious to climb is not always the case. #vibramfivefingers #fivefingers #fivefingersshoes #barefootjunkie #barefoot #barefootfitness #barefootclimbing #climbing #dan_edwardes #pkgenerations #treeclimber #outdoortraining #thegreatoutdoors #barefoottraining #barefootliving #noexcuses #besafe (at Barnet) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5DHv-qDTJZ/?igshid=1jhrlamwxpc70
