Omg I die when I watch housing shows that take place in California. "Let's see what this couple can get for their MODSST budget of 500k" and then they show a one bedroom shack with boarded up windows overflowing with rats and I'm like ?!?!
It’s wild to me. The biggest house in my city of about 40k people is a literal mansion with acres of lawn surrounding it, stately and massive, and they couldn’t sell it for 800k. The mayor ended up renting it for a year and I don’t know what it eventually went for. And this is a “nice” town, mind you, it isn’t depressed like the larger industry cities in the tristate area.
But then like there are places where that 800k might only get you like three bedrooms and a couple of baths and it’s like ???????? How do you pay your bills ?????
