When a flower doesn't bloom you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.

“The only way I will rest in peace is if one day transgender people aren’t treated the way i was, they’re treated like humans, with valid feelings and human rights.... My death needs to mean something. My death needs to be acounted in the number of transgender people who commit suicide this year. I want someone to look at that number and say “that’s fucked up” and fix it. Fix society. Please.” -Leelah Alcorn
Don’t let her down please fix this society we live in. LGBT+ kids shouldn’t have to choose between dying and being who they are. Stop letting our kids die because you didn’t treat them as human because of who they love or who they are. Let your kids be LGBT+ without judgement or negativity from you. Stop the hate fix society.
My name is Andrew Sommers, and this is probably my suicide note.
its January 1st 2016, 12:54AM. I am a 14 year old transgender male from Evans GA who suffers from abuse, depression, dysphoria, anxiety, and probably a bunch of other stuff. I have divorced parents, my mother doesn't accept any aspect of transgender people, she has the whole “don't change what god made you to be” mindset, my father isn't very different, but he tends to keep his beliefs to himself. I go to Greenbrier Middle school (8th grade) im pretty accepted my most of my peers but the teachers arent allowed to use the right pronouns or my parents will flip their shit. (this is a lot of info all jumbled up in a weird order but i cant even think straight atm so bear with me). I have a beautiful best friend named Hannah, god shes amazing... weve known eachother for years but we have never met in person. Shes been with me through pretty much everything, i love her so fucking much. i would be dead if it wasnt for her, that fact makes me feel even shittier that im writing this, this means all her efforts have failed.. im so fucking sorry Hannah. fuck. my mom has taken my phone away i have no communication with anyone (except through tumblr). My mom is going through everything on my phone, probably deleting all my social medias ( my actual account is @hijackedcapitol and my side blog is @drewsom and my instagram is @/andrxw_ ) and seeing all of my private conversations, which is fucking stupid. also she talks shit all the time. “why cant you just be normal” “you're a girl” “i dont care about you or your tr*nny friends”. its endless.
long story short, i cant fucking live like this anymore
im sorry
edit; im okay, see recent post
Black Trans Lives Matter Day
So far this year, 21 of our trans siblings have been murdered. 14 or 15 (I think) were people of color. I cannot express the anger and heartbreak I feel at this.
Let us remember those we have lost. More importantly, let’s think of ways we can make things better. Let’s put gender identity and sexual orientation into schools. Let’s stop erasing LGBT+ identities. Let’s treat people with love and make sure they never forget that they matter and they should be themselves. Let’s stop forcing people to conform to nonsensical gender roles and cisheteronormativity. When others come out to us, let’s give them a hug and say “I love you and I love your transness” or “I love you and your homosexuality” or whatever identity or identities they are a part of. Let’s all start to listen to other people’s stories. Let’s make it clear to the bigots and the bullies that their bullshit will not stand. Not in my house. Not in my country. Not on my planet.
I hope all my readers are having a good day.
All the best,
Victoria
It’s not us who are ugly, it’s society.
