Long day for journalist Michelle Martin
Even supervillains have their off-days, and Doctor Vynes is no exception.
Thing is, while he’s not completely lost when it comes to cars, his (loud) opinions aren’t, let’s say, backed up by facts as well as they would be in questions of botany.
(Head Mechanic Doris is not paid enough for any of this.)
(Head Henchman Sven assessed the situation and decided that two was already a crowd when it came to fixing engines, so the best course of action would be fixing himself a coffee and pretend to be invisible.)
I had this weird dream... it could be an idea for a story. Or maybe not, but anyway, here goes:
So a bunch of people are locked in with this human-eating creature. As in the creature is already locked up and they are flung into his... cell? Room? The creature looks mostly human. (In fact he looks a lot like one of my OCs.) Male, white, short and thin, short blond hair, big eyes, pointy nose. His only visibly non-human traits are his pointy canines and glowing eyes.
Anyway, he instantly kills two of the people and eats them.
Which would by all logic make the rest of the prisoners want to kill him or at least stay the hell away, but one of them is an exceptionally determined monsterfucker and for some reason this display makes him even more interested, so he starts 'taming' this creature. He's pretty persistent, and even though the creature is confused at first, he's into it enough that he doesn't kill him. Now, this guy is kinda big and burly and he probably had his ideas about who's gonna be topping, but so did the creature and he's not currently open to negotiations.
The actual dream ended here, the rest I added half asleep but more or less consciously:
We pick up a while later, our monsterfucker is now free and either back home or at some hotel. It's the dead of the night and he notices that the creature is there, scratching at his window like a stray cat. (They are several stories above ground level.)
Like the Darwin awards-hopeful that he is, he opens the window and asks:
'Did you come to eat me?'
'Devour' says the creature 'Not eat.'
Lucky for the guy, he genuinely did just come for sex. After they're done the guy has two more questions:
'You do still want to eat me, right?'
'Yes' comes the answer 'Like I want to eat all humans. But you don't eat all the meat you ever see either, do you?'
'I guess. Also - I thought vampires were supposed to be cold, but you feel warm?'
This gets him a scoff.
'Vampires aren't the only beings that feed on humans. I have no respect for them. They waste all that meat!'
'What's wrong?'
'...'
'Petra. Come on.'
'Ehh, it's nothing... I just had a fight with Ali, that's all.'
'A fight. A fight with Ali Rana? Dr Rana? That Ali?'
'Do we know more?'
'I'm just double checking. You picked a fight with the guy we pay to talk down pissed-off, man-eating demons. To therapy with you, ma'am.'
'Fuck off. What makes you think I started it, anyway?!'
'Having met you, that's what.'
Doctor Vynes will now state his terms. You are welcome to listen, agree - and beg.
Ex-supervillain Doctor Vynes* and his new favourite right-hand man, ex-agent Alex Wright.
(*his main goals of environmentalism are still the same, he just let go of the whole ‘humanity is a virus’ mindset and is now working to avoid collateral damage.)

The year is 1841 - Young Monsieur Augustin Perrault receives a distressed letter from his uncle. Something suspicious is going on in his house - now it’s up to Augustin and his friends to investigate. They might find a lot more than they signed up for.
I’ve decided to migrate my original writing to AO3 and in the name of Spooky Season I shall start with this one - enjoy!
Sudden onset OC feels incoming -
René is far from perfect and one of his most glaring flaws is how jealous he gets. His easiest way ahead in life would be to find a nice lady with whom they can agree to marry for convenience and then they could both keep as many lovers on the side as they please. His first relationship was torpedoed by his complete inability to agree to an arrangement like this.
He never quite grows out of it either. Gérard can't so much as look at another man (never mind a Marriagable Woman) without him getting pissy.
