The wheels are finally back in from my new friends at Houston Dynamic Services after being re-trued and rebalanced. Both wheels had about 0.080" wobble to them before (maybe they got dropped at some point, or strapped to a pallet in some weird way. It’s hard to know. In any case they were literally bent out of shape.) The guys at the shop said they were able to get everything back to within two or three thousandths. Three carving mallets (four if you count mine, over there on the left)- 8-½" long, 4" diameter, 1.5 lbs (about 725 grams) each, all made from reclaimed, quartersawn Osage orange grown right here in Houston. One is spoken for, but the other two are still available. I have been using mine for chopping dovetails and carving letters for about three years now, and aside from the oxidation, it still looks brand new. If you are interested in one, leave a message in in the comments or DM me. We’ll figure it out. /////////////////////////////////////////// Shaping the neck.
