Charles wiped his eyes hastily, a pink tinge to his cheeks. He hated how poorly he could control his emotions at times.
Setting his jaw, he turned back to Jack, ignoring his words. "How long will you be gone, then?" the telepath asked. He knew it wasn't fair to be upset... Jack had a life beyond him and sometimes Charles forgot that.
Jack comes up behind Alu and kisses her cheek. "Love you Lu."
“Oh! Love you too!” Alu smiles wide and turns to give him a quick peck on the cheek.
The Return || Sam and Jack
Sam had been dreading this moment for a long time. Not in the sense most would. She knew their bond was strong and there would be no break-ups or the like, but Jack would be upset. She’d get chewed out for sure. She took a deep breath and held her knuckles mere centimeters from Jacks-- THEIR apartment door. She didn’t know what she was going to say, or how to explain her absence. It had been like she was almost non-existent but still alive and just ‘away’. She took another deep breath and rapped her knuckles against that door that was the only a thin barrier of the reunion she was absolutely afraid of yet just as excited for.
