Why My Sidewalk Looks Like a Tetris Fail
This weekend, I power-walked to Wawa for coffee and nearly ate pavement because my sidewalk tiles are rebelling. One’s sunken, one’s cracked, and the rest are just… judging me.
The Problem: Turns out, Newark’s clay soil + tree roots = concrete chaos. My sidewalk is less "walkway" and more "obstacle course." My mail carrier side-eyes me every morning.
The Discovery: While doom-searching "how much does sidewalk repair cost," I found Campos Paving’s About Us page. They’ve been doing this in Newark for years—which means they get our soil drama. Also, their team photo has a guy smiling next to fresh pavement, and if that’s not a mood, I don’t know what is.
Takeaways:
"Mudjacking" is a thing (lifting sunken slabs with foam?! Science!).
Local companies know which materials survive our humidity swings.
Side note: Their "family-owned" vibe low-key makes me trust them more.
Closing Thought: Might send this to my HOA with a passive-aggressive "FYI."
