woooo Icy Friends!

Fizzard was named for a friend! When I was new, the first nest I had after my progens was with Zaffre and Tamarind, who had three guardian kids. One of them was an XXY and my friend asked to take her and I agreed to trade her for Cherrytide! My friend named their new guardian Luckypheel after me! At the time, my friend was breeding a lot of dragons and would offer them to me so not long after I got this triple ice spiral and decided to return the favor by making the dragon's name a tribute to them c: Fizz from their old username, combined with Blizzard since the dragon was ice colored c:

As for my fae, Pogonip...her colors are Ice/Mist/Fog. So I looked up that combo of words and found pogonip, which is an icy mist or fog! Literally her asdfsd

I'd love to know the origin behind the names of Chiaroscuro, Siciliane, Fizzard, and Calabasas! Hope that isn't too many svjsjs

Chiara! Since she hatched with a monochromatic white-dark grey color scheme, the art term Chiaroscuro (which literally is italian for Light-dark) seemed fitting for her! Plus I got to nickname her Chiara, which is one of my favorite italian names c: it’s the italian form of Claire!

Siciliane! He’s a pizza snapper and needed a fitting name for that. I was looking up stuff but couldn’t really settle on anything, and my sister came up with Siciliane for him, from Sicilian pizza, so I decided to go with it! To be honest, I’m not actually sure why my sister chose the e ending since it's the feminine plural form. i guess Siciliane is just gnc af c:

Fizzard! Ok so one of my first hatches was this dragon who was a surprise double from two parents with a wide range! My friend wanted her and named her Luckypheel after me! My friend offered to do a dragon trade for it, so I got this icy noodle in return! Since Luckypheel was named after me, I thought it only made sense to name this dragon after my friend’s original username, Fizzywits, combined with blizzard, since the dragon was triple ice haha.

And Calabasas! She’s named after the city in California, since it’s believed to come from calabazas, which is spanish for pumpkins! a fitting name for an autumn-looking girl! I actually pronounce her name like the spanish word rather than the California city though, the spanish a’s sound nicer. I probably should have just used the actual spanish word when naming her haha

I had a fun idea for a post! Here’s the first of every breed I got, roughly in the order I got them :D

Tundra: Tarragon, Imperial: Zaffre, Guardian: Tamarind Spiral: Fizzard, Fae: Asterina Pearlcatcher: Falcata, Coatl: Calabasas, Snapper: Artichoke Nocturne: Antikyra  Skydancer: Kyurem* Bogsneak: Iolite, Ridgeback: Pitohui, Wildclaw: Squeak Mirror: Ingot and Marglobe (bought on same day, don’t know who was first dfsd) Gaoler: Bomoseen, Banescale: Colupis, Veilspun: Samascott

*Kyurem is now a wildclaw, so now my earliest skydancer would be their daughter Clash actually haha. but Kyurem was my first regardless c:

Thought this would be a fun post to make!

One of the tenets about Florabrisa is that it’s supposed to be a place where dragons can just exist if they need, with no expectation of working or anything. So I try to make sure I have a good handful of dragons that don’t have any specific role in the lair..just chilling and doing what makes them happy c:

Of course, a lot of the dragons that meet this do still contribute to the lair when they have the energy! While they don’t have to, these guys do often volunteer to do small tasks and chores around the lair to help keep things running smoothly! They’re all greatly appreciated.
