Why I ship knighthowler and think more people should give it a chance! (A Twitter thread from a day ago i'm proud enough to post here)

ok so- before I say anything, I am very well aware some of this may sound like stretches or just me saying shit but, hear me out they're so cool and I love them bjhfvndmcs

Starting off I wanna look at their interactions, they might seem a little simple or not very noteworthy but I think when analyzed there's a bit more to be found with them then meets the eye. starting with:

This interaction I find interesting because its one of two interactions he has mentioning his discomfort with taking off his armor, the other being his interaction with Ribecca. what interests me though is how he talks about it differently to each of them.

With Ribecca he makes excuses and deflects when asked to take off his armor, being more short near the end of the convo despite Knowing Ribecca for quite a bit.

Compare this to his interaction with eclipse and he seems slightly more open about his insecurities, outright saying he doesn't feel like a knight without it (something he doesn't mention to any other toon like Ribecca who he's supposedly known for longer)

Atleast in my interpretation, this feels as though he's more comfortable sharing personal aspects about himself with Eclipse than any other toon we currently know about (even if he is still more guarded when speaking of it, I can't help but notice the subtle differences)

Next I wanna talk about this interaction which I also find interesting even if i sound more like I'm about to make a stretch-

Before I say anything note this isn't me saying he's ONLY protective of Eclipse, I'm well aware he's likely very protective of others this one just sticks out to me as the only interaction showing the protectiveness and a few other things when digging into it.

Once more, while simple on the surface, this interaction feels a bit special when looking into it. Here his protectiveness manifests when observing something most wouldn't particularly take notice of like her ruffled fur.

this is interesting to me Because its not something Obvious like Eclipse tripping on her way to the elevator or getting scratched by a twisted its a very small detail he'd have to be paying very close attention to in order to notice (personal note: he's watching and doting/silly)

Next I wanna look a bit more into Eclipse's character and talk about some things about her that I don't often see brought up by others

In Eclipse's info card its mentioned how she wants to show others wolves aren't bad which she does by being very bubbly and social with every toon she talks too, HOWEVER

before I speak I must once again note that I am not saying these toons are BAD or HATE her or anything in that sort, they're still cordial and pleasant when talking but the tone is very noticeable when comparing the interactions with others.

In many of Eclipse's interactions with others, theres a noticeable awkward energy present that isn't there when they talk with others (even with her fellow Halloween toons like Ribecca though that could be linked to Ribecca being upset about Connie leaving the cast)

Even Gourdy mentions finding her scary in the dark despite knowing how sweet and friendly she is normally (which he is valid for feeling cause like- he IS a little kid watching her go a lil bit crazy mode)

(also lil thing eclipse is never mentioned to go violent or rabid in her werewolf mode, that feels like more edge padding than anything and goes against her talk of wolves not being the bad guy if she literally BECOMES a bad guy doing her normal thing-)

But back to my point- out of every toon she's interacted with only two don't have an awkward or tense energy and of thats the ones with Soulvester and Connie (i won't mention connie since its not her thread but she's just cool like that)

I quite like how soulvester is the only toon aside from connie who treats eclipse like she's normal and talks with her the same he would with any other, its genuinely really sweet and I wish more people notice.THE NEXT FEW PARTS ARE MORE HEADCANON BASED

Building off what I mentioned before consider Soulvester going out of his way to include Eclipse in things or talking to her a lot so she doesn't feel ostracized <3 or perhaps brushing her fur when it gets ruffled whether she's stressed or not just to be sure she's taken care of-

Imagine Eclipse distracting and keeping everyone safe in werewolf mode and he can only stare in admiration and respect very "what a woman" type shit <3 (picture is very relevant/silly) or also Eclipse protecting him which makes him shot circuit trbnfdmkjsl <3 <3 <3

or on the flipside Eclipse running out of stamina near ele and letting him carry her the rest of the way so he can feel like the knightly protector he wants to be. (But then also being carried around by eclipse cause she's strong and may of may not also wanna make sure he isn't doing EVERYTHING by himself) What if Soulvester being in a more serious mood and then completely melting when Eclipse enters with her energy.

I super love the idea of Eclipse being very physically affectionate which again makes Soulvester soften up a little bit and return the affection tenfold- he'll treat her like a princess sometimes but not babying her, respecting her power and confidence as an indivdual and someone who can stand for herself.

to end it off Imagine Soulvester joining her in howling at the moon, even if he doesn't completely get it, so she can feel as though he cares about her interests and doesn't feel alone when doing it. Thats all folks I hope you liked me silly rambling uwu
