I like to imagine Fjord at level 20 is a highly respected captain that is the embodiment of freedom and adventure. He’s kind and fair, and those who are looking for excitement and a fresh start are eager to work on his ship. But if you cross him (or are in danger), you will find why he is one of Melora’s favourites and protector and champion of the seas. He is incredibly powerful, but rarely makes a show of it.

Instead, he’d rather show you his family. He’s a very proud father, and he’ll assure you that his children have already surpassed him in every way, and also are the cause for his hair being more gray than black. His wife pokes in to comment on how handsome he looks, and how good of a father he is. He looks at her as if she hung all the stars in the sky, the same stars that guide the sailor’s journey. They’re very much in love, and there are stories shared in coastal taverns about the many adventures and exploits of Captain Tusktooth and Lady Sapphire, and the Mighty Nein. In fact, you can see paintings of their tales in an art gallery in Nicodranas, which Fjord always promotes. Of course, when people find out that his adoptive father is the one and only Vandran, it makes sense why he is so charismatic and maybe a little bit mysterious. Oh, and rumour has it the Ruby of the Sea and Babenon DuSol are his in-laws.

With his past closed behind him, happy in the present with friends and family, and curious to see what the future holds for them… He always tells you he’s the happiest he’s ever been. With a big, tusk-filled smile.

Fjord and Jester are really just out there consistently being cute, huh? Just this episode alone we got

Fjord being “appalled” by Jester being brutally attacked by the frost giants

the soft “its time to go” while holding her frozen face and getting her out of there

Dramatic and flirtatious “kiss me” and their after battle make out

The dreamy look Jester had when she recalled seeing Fjord’s face while frozen and him being all blushy

The side conversation with Veth/Sam about the fire-resistance ring and Fjord/Travis said “I like to spoil my-”

Jester/Laura also proudly showing off said ring, again

Fjord immediately being the one to pull Jester out of her commune ritual at the sign of danger

And of course, Fjord constantly wanting to give Jester a piggyback ride.

Travis accidentally winning the game for Laura and him being so annoyed was the best I can’t stop laughing

Thinking about how this was the face Fjord made when he saw Jester walking towards him in the fog, covered in blood and deep gashes and shaking

And then how it quickly turned into terrified relief when she goes for a hug, saying “yeah yeah, come here, come here, come here”

Just thinking about Fjord’s flirting in the Xhorhas arc… the whole scene with the tree (and diving after her), the kiss on the cheek, “I’m disarming you”, doing eldritch blast finger guns with a wink and saying “I killed a jellyfish… for you.”

It was so great. That man was crushing on her for so long.

Fjord really had the best vibes. Handsome ocean boy with a secret accent and darker ties? And then grows into an oath of the open seas paladin captain who's got some sexy salt and pepper action going on? Who also consistently has had cool-ass swords the entire campaign? Not to mention intelligent, a good leader, charismatic as fuck, and pulled off some of the most ballsy moves? Best! Vibes!

I don't blame Jester for falling in love with him day one, whew. What a man.

If I think too hard about Fjord’s instinct in this moment of reality breaking around them is to hold Jester’s hand, I start crying.

He’s scared. And he holds Jester’s hand, and Laura makes a show that Jester is reaching out towards him.
