Thoughts: Ahhhhh, this was perfection and I am specifically talking about “Contractor” and if we are being honest, all I am hearing is Keiko. I think I cried at her part in “Contractor”! EARGASM!!! So much better than the audio recording we got on the FictionJunction 2010-2013 The BEST of Yuki Kajiura LIVE, vol 2 CD. Absolutely FLAWLESS!!! To see LIVE FOOTAGE of this is everything I ever wanted. It’s such a tiny section of the song but for this little part alone I would have sold my kidney to be able to see it live. Still so sad that I wasn’t able to go. How I wish I could have been there. *sobs* The rest of the song was okay I guess, didn’t particularly love Joelle and Yuriko’s parts, they tried too hard to sound like Eri Ito. "Alone” was super lovely too, still not a huge fan of Joelle’s voice but I was focused on Keiko anyways. “Bloody Rabbit” was okay.

I am so EXCITED! I didn’t think there would be any official video footage for these fan club events. I wonder if there is more to come? Very much looking forward to Contractor, it’s one of my favourite songs being performed by the FJ girls and Keiko’s little main part towards the end blows me away every time. I read some comments on Twitter that she absolutely nailed that so YAY, can’t wait!

Something that has changed in the past year | Something that has remained the same

KEIKO (from the report) Something that has changed in the past year: She started her solo-activities and Yuki Kajiura wrote the song “Nanairo no Finale” for her. KEIKO got to write the lyrics for it. YK encouraged KEIKO to write the lyrics herself since she felt it would be better that way. KEIKO was dying to sing the song already so she wrote the lyrics in quite a hurry. She struggled a bit with certain sections because she couldn’t come up with fitting lyrics. Turns out YK wrote those parts having “lalalas” in mind so the melody is not really suitable for actual lyrics. KEIKO is happy she gets to try out all these new things and face challenges. This way she gets to discover amazing sceneries that she has never seen before. On a random side note, it seems that 20 years ago, KEIKO had already stood on the stage of the Mielparque venue as a teenager. She herself couldn’t even remember but her father told her about it. It’s more or less a starting place for her activities.

Hikaru (from the report) Hikaru talks about her love for anime and manga which kept her motivated and happy throughout the past year. She reads about 20 books a month. There was a little accident regarding one specific anime series. She had checked the schedules before the anime season started and planned to record everything. But for some reason she forgot to record that anime. It was a huge shock especially since she couldn’t find a place where to stream it afterwards. None of the services she is subscribed to broadcast the anime in question. The don’t really mention the name of the anime but apparently it is something that YK has watched and enjoyed quite a bit. It’s based on a manga. Hikaru loves to immerse herself in the word of anime and manga, it’s like you can experience a completely different life. YK says that this comes in quite handy if you want to get inspiration for lyrics. Living vicariously through fictional characters can actually broaden your horizon.

Yuki Kajiura featured on KTV’s program “7 RULES”

Yuki Kajiura was featured on the weekly program “7 RULES” which focuses on successful women. The featured guest will introduce their seven rules to success. Yuki’s episode aired yesterday (June 8). It was quite interesting so be sure to check it out. There was also some footage of the FictionJunction Station Fan Club event so we got to see a few snippets of Keiko. BANZAI!
