Theseus’ ship but instead of different parts its just the Sacristan’s limbs — moving on from that, Evolution art finally, the story is so FUN but only if you just go “oh were doing that now” every time there’s a new genre of body horror rolling into the text. and also look away from the other issues with it but i am in no place to fully talk about that but can they give this guy a break its almost like they want him to meet death every time [looks at camera]
extra version with some blue:
finally finished evolution and yes it was great, love the youthful naturalist, def enjoy how it plays alongside HD ambition
and also, that little brat was so lucky i had outside motivation to finish the storyline bc when i saw that i was gonna have to go all around the entire unterzee AGAIN just to make the bell i was thiiiiiis close to ditching him for another year
People need to talk more about how fuckin gross Evolution is, I love it
Evo thoughts bc the estival is too much for me to keep track of! Not really spoilery but won't make sense if you don't know the main NPC.
So I've got to chapter 3 (?) of Evolution on Silvia's account, and I gotta say, it's the first storyline I've felt fits well into Silvia's overall arc. (not a criticism of FL, has more to do with how I created her character.) Mainly this is because the Youthful Naturalist is the first NPC I can see Silvia developing a real relationship with. She's a year into her stay in the Neath, she feels infinitely older and wiser than she did when she first got there. Enter this guy who's like 2 years younger than her, also following a doomed quest for knowledge, shares her anxieties about death. How can she not adopt him?
When she found out he lived in the rookery, she begged him to crash at her townhouse instead. He refused because he has an awful sleep schedule and would rather live in his shitty little cubby and keep his own hours. She frets about him and makes sure he eats; when he's onboard her ship, he has sll the eels he wants. He makes her laugh. He makes her believe that they can solve anything if they just know enough.
They're besties and they both feed into each other's Prometheus complexes and neither is going to escape unharmed.
I think I just met Charles Darwin ??
