What is a Captain's Role in Discipline?

As far as high school guard goes, it’s important for a captain to understand that despite being more experienced and responsible they are still roughly the same age as the rest of the guard. Ordering a fellow student to run a lap only leads to resentment.

The captain can tell you to get set, pay attention, stop talking, etc. but when it comes to physical discipline like push ups and laps I believe it’s best to leave that to an instructor. If a guard member needs that kind of discipline, tell the guard instructor.

Does no one realize how fucking geeky some marching bands are?? Like at my school there's this thing they do after each game called popcorn where everyone runs around in circles to the cadences like a satanic ritual The flag corp and the saxophones were rivals The sousaphones are a fucking cult Wtf

So after a treacherous audition process I can finally say that I am on the UNL color guard and weapons line!!

Well it's my last year being in color guard in high school and my section leader won't even let us get jackets!! I've been so excited for this and then it blows up in my face!!

It's that time again. Eighties all week with no shade. *sigh*

I'm already sick of Mackenzie. And I haven't seen her in months but in 8 days I know she is going to be a bitch to me. I want to try so hard to be captain. I want to read drill and perfect flag work and she's not going to let me. She wants to be Mallory but she isn't. She has to suck it up and let Lindsay be in charge. I hate her already. I hope Lindsay will help me. I feel like I need the onyx clinic so I can show everyone how good I am. Because I know for a fact I'm better than Mackenzie. She speeds the whole time and teaches wrong. Gimpy was never proud of that. Gimpy sees that I'm working my butt off and she sees my love and dedication for flags. I just want Gimp to be captain and so she can make me captain. She knows I can do it. And I do too. 

Things to work on this season:

Practice 

Learn to read drill 

Get good at flags 

Practice 

Be nice to EVERYONE

Help the new girls as much as I can 

Let everything out to Gimpy
