It was one of those days in which Andromeda had no plans, no one travelling with her, and no one specific place she absolutely needed to be. She wasn't particularly in the mood for any of it anyway, so she had resigned herself to drifting through space, looking for abandoned ships that she might be able to explore or do some salvage work on. She had passed by several small ships that looked too charred to even bother with, and was starting to think this part of space was a waste of her time when the TARDIS monitor picked up something much larger, and much less damaged.
It was gorgeous, really. From the outside it seemed relatively unscathed, and running on low power. She ran a few scans to see whether there were any life signs there she should be worried about. Nothing. Her face slowly slid into a wide grin, thinking she had been lucky enough to beat the other space scavengers to the punch. She quickly set coordinates to land in the ship's bridge, planning to find out what had happened to the ship before she did any exploring or requisitioning of spare parts. She had, after all, encountered some unexpected problems in this sort of enterprise before, and at least this time she planned to be a bit more cautious.
Once she landed, she exited her TARDIS, which disguised itself as a bit of machinery against the wall of the bridge, and breathed in the stale air. It certainly didn't seem like it had been inhabited for a while.
