@flaish: until you have fully recovered, lean on those you trust.
“Man, it sucks being powerless.” Any normal person would take it as a blessing - think of it as a paid vacation where she’s allowed to drop any and all thought of work, but Kara misses the blare of sirens in her ears and the thump-thump-thump of hearts beating a little too quick from across the room.
Kara is crafty. Kara can carry four almond lattes with a stack of crullers under one arm and three of Cat Grant’s thousand-and-Kiera-if-you-do-so-much-as-breathe-on-these-wrong-I-will-skin-you-and-wear-you-instead dollar winter coats without breaking a sweat, but SupergirI? Without powers, SupergirI is just blonde hair and a suit. That’s what scares her a little.
“I - appreciate you looking out for me, Barry, really, I do, but - look, I still want to help. And I’ll... figure out the whole power-outage thing when I can.” She figures it can’t be forever - she’s blown her powers out before, and sure, it hurts a whole lot more when a kick to the chest knocks the air out of you the way it should, but Rao, more than anything, she itches to be a part of it all again. It’s safe to say that SupergirI doesn’t do bedrest very well.
“- Besides. We’ve got bad guys to punch.”
