The newest and youngest of the current leaders, Flamestar still needs time to grow confidence in his ability as a leader. Naturally a quiet, reserved cat, his selection as deputy came as a shock to him, being chosen as the successor to former deputy and best friend Eagleshade. Eagleshade was a popular and capable cat, and Flamestar still feels unfit to be following in his footsteps. Despite his anxiety about his new position, Flamestar is a caring cat and wants to do right for his clan mates, and he forces himself to push aside his own feelings of inadequacy and take up his role woth confidence. He is close with his deputy Littlespots, as well as his medicine cat Petaltooth, who acts as a close friend and confidant.

please tell me more about swiftshadow

Swiftshadow is a youngish Riverclan warrior, he would have been an apprentice around the same time Flamestar was. He is the youngest kit of Crashclaw and Whitewhisper (two of Riverclan’s senior warriors), as well as the younger brother of the Riverclan deputy, Duckpad. Due being born many moons apart, he and Duckpad are not particularly close, especially after the death of Duckpad’s littermate (and his other older sister) Nightdapple. She sees him as more of an annoyance than a family member, someone constantly treading on her heels in order to get her attention, even if it’s negative.

Swiftshadow struggles with feelings of inadequacy, feeling somewhat out of place in the tight-knit Riverclan community. He’s fiercely loyal, but impulsive, and he believes he’s destined for great things if someone would only give him the chance.

Around a year before the events of Crossfire (name of the oc story) Swiftshadow bore witness to some incriminating information regarding the then Thuderclan warrior Flameleap (not saying what to avoid spoiling anything). Swiftshadow held his tongue about this, instead storing the experience in the back of his brain, in case it became useful at a later date. At the beginning of Crossfire, Swiftshadow has just received his first apprentice, a sweet, bubbly molly named Troutpaw, and Flamestar has just become Thunderclan’s new leader. Seeing this as an advantageous opportunity, Swiftshadow smugly approaches Flamestar with his knowledge, looking to use Flamestar as a pawn in order to benefit Riverclan, or else reveal his secret.
