I suddenly remembered that flamingos use the secret of their coccygeal gland as cosmetics, smearing it on their feathers and making them brighter that way. Then I imagined Doflamingo making himself up in front of a mirror to look like The Most Successful Male in his understanding. That's Horrible.

In general, the brighter a flamingo, the more significant it is among his herd. The flashy style of Doflamingo's clothing for him is a way to show he's cool, lol.

As expected, top 10 books

ahhh ok so i have read a lot of books this is going to be fun also i cannot choose so i'm putting series down as individual books

anyway without further ado, in order of mostly just when i thought of them because i am On Holiday and therefore do not have my bookshelf to stare at (and the books i brought with me are ones i need to get through, not my favourites)

1. a mango shaped space by wendy mass

2. the lord of the rings trilogy by jrr tolkein

3. the curious incident of the dog in the night-time by mark haddon

4. wonder by rj palacio (including the julian chapter)

5. all the shadowhunters books by cassandra clare (particularly the bane chronicles and all the ones with malec even though i haven't finished them all yet)

6. red white and royal blue by casey mcquiston

7. to kill a mockingbird by harper lee

8. flamingo boy by michael morpurgo (but also lots of other books by michael morpurgo)

9. they both die at the end by adam silvera

10. simon vs the homosapiens agenda by becky albertalli

with shoutout to alice oseman's heartstopper comic series (i have yet to read her "actual" books but they are on my list to read asap) which i'm adding as extra since it's not technically book-books (but it is because comics are books,, but this gives me an extra space on the list)

Why there need to be more autistic characters in children’s books

The limited and skewed portrayal of autism means it is often misrepresented rather than represented in fiction.

Why this stuff is important. Representation isn’t enough, we need lots of autistic characters for lots of autistic people!
