German Flamethrower. Somewhere on the Eastern Front.
Panzerkampfwagen III (Flamm), with «F24» as a tactical number was captured in Italy, together with another «F23», 1943. This vehicle is currently in The Koblenz Museum.
Second picture shows the same vehicle in front. Notice the extra armor plates welded to the front.

Foregroundof a Flammenwerfer-Spritzköpfe throwing fuel. It was normal practice to wet the target with fuel before launching a flare. Those tracks are from an Ausf. E hull.
The crew of this SdKfz 251/16 carries special protective clothes supplied to the troops flamethrower. This vehicle was delivered to a unit of 1st. Panzer SS Leibstandarte «Adolf Hitler» Division.
